The Modern Workplace Support Engineer will be assisting the VP of Infrastructure & Information Security Officer (ISO) with delivering world-class end-user focused support in our highly mobile and fast paced environment.
Essential to this role is the ability to focus on providing world-class end user support and solutions using the Microsoft Modern Desktop technologies such as but not limited to; Windows 10, O365 and Azure. Also, propose and maintain policy, standards, and procedures while continually focusing on process improvements, present alternatives, and associated risks, professionally debate issues and view cloud and mobile computing and security from a business perspective. The successful candidate should be able to communicate effectively and successfully coordinate efforts with other areas of the business and technology teams.
This role will be located out of our New York office with expectations of being in the office per our hybrid schedule or as needed. Travel to the other offices may be required from time to time. Proof of vaccination is required as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Sense of ownership for the end user desktop environment including managing end user expectations, maintaining, and supporting the modern desktop operating environment.
- Ensure performance of the Modern Desktop components to an SLA level and report on it
- Work with CTO, ISO, and other technology resources to maintain an overall Modern Desktop end user support operating strategy
- Assists with all disaster recovery and business continuity planning activities
- Works with CTO, ISO to ensure compliance with SEC, FINRA and other regulations; assists with gathering information for audits

Experience
As a seasoned Microsoft Modern Workplace Support Engineer, you have experience and the understanding of the immense importance for delivering world-class end user focused support. Additionally, strong knowledge of Microsoft Modern Desktop and Microsoft Office 365 technologies and experience in the support and maintenance of these services.
You also have:
- 3+ years in deploying Microsoft technologies.
- 2+ years delivering Microsoft Modern Desktop technologies such as Windows 10 devices, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM, formerly Intune), SCCM, and AD/AAD, multi-factor authentication (MFA), conditional access (CA)
- Demonstrates the ability to work in a fast-paced complex environment where organizational skills are essential.
- Experience in testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and documentation of installed and integrated deployments, on-site or remote. Excellent documentation practices are essential.
- Possesses excellent collaboration skills and ability to interact with end-users, vendors, and other teams to successfully identify and resolve issues.
- Thought leadership on how to best support our end users with emerging trends, process improvements and Microsoft tools and products.
- Good problem-solving skills, with an ability to work autonomously or with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, detail oriented, pays attention to subtle nuances and needs of individuals, especially executives.
- Desire for continuous learning and improvement
Education

Four-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other relevant fields (or work experience equivalent) and 2+ years of experience with a proven advancing skillset and enterprise experience across various Microsoft and related technologies, up to including Microsoft Modern Desktop solutions, O365 and Azure.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- The ideal candidate will have associated Microsoft Certifications and Training to backup experience.

- Microsoft Modern Desktop technologies, including but not limited to:
- Windows 10 OS,
- Microsoft Endpoint Manager (formerly Intune),
- SCCM,
- Identity and Access Management – (Active Directory – AD, Azure Active Directory - AAD),
- Multi-Factor Authentication,
- Conditional Access Policy
- Work tracking in systems like Azure DevOps, Jira, Service Now, or FreshService,
- Developing and delivery of documentation, Markdown preferred
- Integrating 3rd party solutions with Microsoft Modern Desktop technologies and Office 365
- Knowledge of PowerShell and PowerShell modules
- Coordinating agile life cycle activities and ensuring progress is being made with the objectives.

- Other core O365 services including Teams, SPO/OneDrive, EXO
