Who are we looking for?

Merge is an in-person first workplace, so our office operations and experience are key to fostering a fun, thriving, and inclusive environment. We’re seeking an experienced Office Manager based in NYC to oversee day-to-day office operations, lead employee events and in-office culture initiatives, and support our people across both offices. This role will primarily be based out of our Flatiron District office and will also oversee operations for our San Francisco office, and our co-working space in Berlin, Germany.

This position requires working from our NYC office five days a week (M-F), 9am - 6pm.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of our NYC office and oversee our SF office and Berlin co-working space, helping create an organized, welcoming, and efficient workspace for Mergies

  • Manage front desk operations, office visitors, mail/packages, and act as the primary point of contact for the NYC office

  • Plan and execute internal and external events that people rave about (company offsites, happy hours, parties, all hands, panels, fireside chats, etc.)

  • Provide exceptional customer service - prompt responses to requests and inquiries, address concerns and solve problems to a high standard and in a timely manner

  • Manage partnerships with building management, cleaning staff, and all other office vendors

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide great workplace and employee experience (e.g. onboarding)

  • Manage all aspects of space/infrastructure planning (such as moves, additions, changes to workspace) when needed

  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail and packages

  • Submit work orders and schedule repairs for general office space and equipment maintenance, connecting with and escorting vendors

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by staying current with local health and safety requirements, emergency preparedness plans, first aid kits, and compliance signage

  • Partner with the People team and other cross-functional teams to provide great workplace and employee experience (e.g. onboarding)

  • Deliver ad-hoc projects as needed

What experience is required?

  • 2+ years of experience in office coordination, workplace experience, or office management, plus 2+ years of hospitality experience

  • You love the creative challenge of maintaining strong culture and engagement in our in-office environment

  • People-oriented and approachable, with teammates naturally coming to you when they need help

  • Hyper-organized, structured, and detail-oriented, with strong project management skills and the ability to keep multiple workstreams moving simultaneously

  • Excellent at multitasking and prioritization, with strong attention to detail

  • Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented, with a knack for anticipating needs before they arise

  • Highly adaptable and comfortable navigating ever-changing priorities and requests

  • Great written and verbal communicator who can comfortably work with people across all levels of the organization

  • Proficient with Google suite, Asana, monday.com

Compensation

  • The cash compensation range for this role is $80,000-$110,000.

  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications. In addition to cash compensation, all employees receive an equity compensation package.
