Cruise is looking for an Operations Manager to own the planning and execution of our Supervised/R&D Tactical Response Team in new markets and in priority missions outside of home market.
This individual will work hand-in-hand with engineers, technicians, fleet management and the operations leadership team to unlock new service areas and markets along with features/functionality for rapid scale.

What you’ll be doing:
- Travel 80%+ to new locations around the US and coordinate team movements and execution to support Engineering and New Market Expansion priorities
- Establish and drive the highest standards for Supervised/R&D operations while deployed to ensure everyone is operating safely
- Oversee day/swing/night operations and personnel at facilities in new and up-and-coming markets to provide critical mileage accumulation and discrete test data to Engineering
- Manage a team of AV Test Operators and Specialists (Contingent Workforce) along with AV Operations Coordinators (FTE) to complete priority Ops missions for Engineering
- Coordinate with Driverless/Commercial Operations and Service to co-manage fleet movements, charging and maintenance to ensure vehicle availability and readiness
- Serve as a key partner in hiring, managing, developing, reviewing and terminating personnel
- Provide key feedback and updates to counterparts and leadership as needed on key issues and information
What you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field
- 4+ years of professional work experience in product/av operations, management consulting, rideshare, mobility sectors
- 2+ years of experience directly managing teams
- Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Ability to travel 80%+ of the time
- Ability to handle dynamic assignments, including flexible schedules
- Ability to connect with people of all backgrounds and offer immediate, fair, and honest feedback when needed
- Comfort with ambiguity; bias to action & willingness to go above and beyond to fulfill the company’s mission
Bonus points!
- Experience leading safety critical operations in technology or automotive industries
- Experience managing and deploying key assets, especially in new markets or in travel settings
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $147,100. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
