About the team

Stripe’s mission is to increase the GDP of the internet: we build economic infrastructure for internet businesses of every size in pursuit of this mission. The Partner Risk Operations team is responsible for managing the operational risk relationships spanning across global payment method, card, and banking partners.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a senior leader to design and lead the Partner Risk Ops Brand Risk Operations team, based out of the US! This senior management role will be directly responsible for developing and executing on the strategic plan of operationalizing and scaling Stripes brand risk programs, including but not limited to Visa’s Dispute Monitoring program and Mastercards Business Risk Assessment and Mitigation program. The successful candidate will oversee a small team of global program managers tasked with managing the day-to-day brand risk programs, while also liaising between the card networks and non-compliant users. 

The right person for this role should have a solid understanding of the financial ecosystem as it relates to card scheme non-compliance, obsess about metrics, and have a minimum of 7 years demonstrated experience leading operational teams in a highly regulated environment. 

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the global vision, strategy, and objectives for the team;
  • Manage all operational card network risk partnerships globally, ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, and service level agreements;
  • Identify regional risk appetites for each brand risk program and ensure the operation does not exceed such targets; 
  • Own and be accountable for brand risk non-compliance fines related to operational losses and drive reduction QoQ; 
  • Distill card network requirements into operational processes and procedures, ensuring maximum efficiency and reducing operational costs;
  • Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders on relationship and exam management;
  • Lead and grow a high performing global operations team - inclusive of outsourcing as appropriate;
  • Prepare and participate in regular business reviews and metrics meetings;
  • Identify gaps in current systems, processes, policies and strategies, and propose data-backed enhancements and improvements to mitigate emerging risks, or optimize for efficiency and quality.

Minimum requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience managing teams in a complex regulated environment; 
  • Confidence presenting to stakeholder audiences across all levels;
  • Experience communicating with, influencing, guiding, and presenting to a variety of audiences;
  • Strong analytical mindset;
  • Familiarity with the global financial ecosystem;
  • Demonstrated experience leading operational teams to excellence.

Preferred qualifications

  •  Experience managing global teams;
  • Background in fintech, payments, or similar.
