You'll be working across Holvi’s Payment Solutions
As a Payment Expert for Card Issuing at Holvi, you’ll be responsible for managing and growing the portfolio of Holvi debit / credit cards, measuring and evaluating the card payments service and business performance and advising on the best approach to maximize profit. Holvi issues their own debit and credit cards and is a Principal member in the Mastercard card scheme. Holvi integrates with the payment network via an external vendor’s card processing platform in order to process authorisation, clearing and settlement of the card transactions. A card bureau is used to develop, manufacture, personalise and distribute the Holvi physical payment cards. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Finance, Operations as well as Project and Strategy to help creating and providing new and modern financial services to our customers.
A typical day could see you:
- Work with the company cross-functional teams to build, roll-out and maintain the card payment services that deliver the company’s vision and strategy
- Formulate and implement practical business strategies and programs to grow the profitability of debit/credit cards and achieve the assigned business targets.
- Own the Holvi cards stock production, management and delivery to customers.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties / vendors for the flawless execution of projects and continuous delivery of the service
- Keep up to date with new requirements and technical or operational developments from a Card Issuing perspective and follow up on necessary changes
- Analyse and triage customer issues escalated by the Customer Advisory team and translate them into technical problems to escalate to the team of developers
- Focus on continuous operations of the service, improving performance, efficiency, monitoring and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies, together with the assigned team of developers
- Perform cost analysis for the service, including validation of invoices received from the 3rd party service providers
Requirements
- You have minimum of 3 years experience in the Card Issuing / Payment Processing Area and have experience with card bureaus, card processors, card networks and other related providers of payment services
- You are passionate about solving problems and dealing with complexity
- You have strong interpersonal skills and proven abilities in effectively communicating at all levels in the organization and with external vendors
- You are able to understand and translate complex technical requirements to business solutions
- You have excellent time management and planning skills and know how to prioritize tasks.
Nice to haves:
- Experience with debit and credit cards, virtual and physical cards, CPV/CNS validation services, digitization and tokenization technologies (for example Apple Pay and Google Pay) is a strong plus
- Experience in Card Acquiring payment services is a plus
- Ability to write SQL queries
- You write and speak Finnish and/or German.

Logistics
This role is remote until it is safe to return to the office, then you can continue to work remotely or from one of our offices in Helsinki or Berlin.
We offer flexible working hours with core office hours between 10.00 and 15.00 local time
