Project

The Payment Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, including payments, reconciliations, and related reporting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations while delivering a seamless payment experience for customers, vendors, and stakeholders.



📌 Key Responsibilities:

Payment Processing:

  • Process outgoing payments (e.g., vendor payments, employee reimbursements, customer refunds) via bank transfers, checks, credit cards, and digital wallets.
  • Monitor daily transaction flows to ensure timely and accurate execution.


Reconciliation & Reporting:

  • Reconcile bank statements, payment gateways, and internal ledgers.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payment transactions.


Compliance & Controls:

  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, anti-money laundering (AML) policies, and internal audit standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

 

Stakeholder Communication:

 

  • Liaise with internal teams (Finance, Procurement, Customer Support) and external partners (banks, payment processors).
  • Address and resolve payment-related inquiries and escalations.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify inefficiencies in payment workflows and suggest automation or optimization solutions.
  • Assist with testing and implementation of new payment systems or tools.


📌Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in payments processing, accounts payable/receivable, treasury, or related financial operations.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations).

Soft Skills:

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
