How Does This Position Help VTS Succeed?

VTS is looking for a People Business Partner to support our growing employee population. As a People Partner, you will collaborate with our Chicago based team to provide a best in class employee experience. You must be a hands-on, roll up your sleeves type employee and should enjoy a fast-paced, scaling-up environment. This position reports to the Senior Director, People Operations, based in NYC.

What Makes This Job Awesome?

  • Build relationships with the team and leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy and execution
  • Provide expertise in the following areas: career planning, performance management, coaching, compensation and rewards, employee relations and learning and development
  • Recommend, develop, and implement new HR processes as required to grow the business and promote a positive and productive work environment
  • Coordinate with global VTS centers of expertise (e.g., Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Payroll)
  • Manage the onboarding process to ensure consistency of new hire experience
  • Conduct employee surveys and drive culture initiatives to enhance and maximize employee experience and analyze for areas of improvement
  • Provide support to employees and managers to better understand and utilize HR tools, processes and policies
  • Act as an employee advocate
  • Handle employee relations concerns as they arise
  • Maintain knowledge of Federal, State, and Local legal requirements and government reporting regulations, ensuring policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Manage annual and semi-annual review process

What Makes You A Great Fit?

  • 5+ years working in HR & People Teams (with at least some of those years working in a Business Partner role) 
  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects; demonstrates initiative and manages multiple, competing priorities
  • BA/BS Degree
  • High level of excellence and ability to take ownership and accountability for work
  • Flexible and able to re-prioritize quickly
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Strong excel, power point, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, but also enjoy working as part of a team
