About the People Team

The Whatnot People Team seeks to empower Whatnauts (what we adoringly call our Whatnot employees!) to be their authentic selves, do their best work, and continuously develop in pursuit of ensuring Whatnot achieves our ambitious goals. We relentlessly prioritize the Whatnaut people experience to enable autonomy, create a safe, inclusive environment, and empower their success.

💻 Role

On a day to day basis, you’ll work on projects that creates a seamless employee experience:

  • Own onboarding processes, including pre-employment tasks, communications, first day origination and activities, I-9 verification, sending welcome swag, and partnering with IT to ensure all new employees have all the tools and equipment needed to be successful
  • Support the people team with the coordination and implementation of various programs across the People Team Centers of Excellence including Learning and Development, DEI Initiatives, Comp & Ben, and People Analytics.
  • Own bulk employee changes within Rippling and support managers with one-off changes
  • Customize, share, and file people-related documentation including salary, equity, and bonus letters, offboarding docs and agreements, etc
  • Provide coordination support for both department-specific onboarding in addition to company-wide in person onboarding in partnership with the L&D Manager and Events coordinator
  • Organize and maintain the People Experience Slab Page and assist with creating content
  • Manage the People Ops Help Desk by responding to Tier 1 employee inquiries, assigning tasks to People Team owners, and follow-up on AIs
  • Partner with Dinse (outside immigration counsel) to assist with Immigration and Mobility needs
  • Own company-wide swag program and ordering
  • Track LOAs in our HRIS system and ensure that team members are aware of their responsibilities while on LOA

As our next People Ops Coordinator, you should have 1+ years of relevant experience in a tech organization, plus:

  • Capability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a remote-first environment
  • Leverage organizational skills to recommend and implement process improvements
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deliverables, maintain time management skills, and pay key attention to detail, while remaining proactive and flexible in style.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, hyper growth organization

Nice to Have…

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, MS Office, Slab/Confluence, Asana
