PLATFORM ENGINEERING - DevX JOB INFO
- Platform Engineering is a fresh, new Tribe at Trendyol, actively developing and evolving. DevX team is a part of Platform Tribe.
- Software Engineers at DevX work across the breadth of Trendyol’s infrastructure, our Customer Facing Applications always with a customer focused mindset.
- They combine their Software Engineering and Systems Engineering skills to help Trendyol’s Products & Infrastructure grow and meet scalability and reliability targets.
- SEs team-up with other engineers to optimize architecture, code and infrastructure to make sure our business critical applications are fast, stable, reliable and available. One of the goals of the DevX team is to eliminate repetitive jobs across all domain teams.
- They apply Software Engineering practices to Operations challenges, striving for efficiency, usability, developer experience and automation, while eliminating manual work.
- The scope for Software Engineering will put our engineers in contact with different programming languages, frameworks, storages, etc. The ability to form a big picture of how a large distributed system and its components interact is key to enabling Software Engineering to do their job.
- DevX team currently provides runtime solutions to Trendyol’s microservice ecosystem on config & secret management, cache management, service discovery, application observability(performance/monitoring/tracing/metrics), authentication, authorization, ci/cd pipeline templates, rate limiting and team portal. New responsibilities are coming!
- Your experience is needed in one or more of the following requirements.
YOUR PROFILE
- Draw on your experience in Software Engineering to bridge the gap between Trendyol’s products and our infrastructure to help to build a developer-friendly, reliable system.
- You are eager to learn and can adapt to an ever-evolving service landscape and can pick the right technology to the problem at hand.
- Solid background in backend infrastructure, distributed systems, and performance analysis
- Knowledge of software engineering principles and fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, object oriented design and testability
- Identify and propose automation opportunities to gain efficiency and scalability.
- Communicate with software developers, product managers and business teams to clarify and build consensus on technical development and vision.
- Solid understanding of Application Lifecycle(ALM), GitOps approaches, and provide necessary CI/CD pipeline infrastructure.
YOUR CHALLENGE
- Self-motivation to learn, share, and grow yourself in the ever-changing, and developing ecosystem of technologies & concepts is a must.
- Developer Experience - product development mindset with a customer-focus on Developers and QAs
- Software Engineering - CS fundamentals (algorithms and data structures) and proficiency in at least one JVM-based programming language. (experience in Golang is a plus)
- Software Architecture - Strong understanding of synchronous/asynchronous microservice & data architectures
- Systems Engineering - large-scale system design exposure, understanding of UNIX/Linux systems internals, TCP/IP networking, distributed system challenges
- Cloud Engineering - Experience with Cloud-native technologies, multi-DC architectures, Docker, Kubernetes, and Service Mesh. Understanding of security and observability best practices. Familiarity with Hashistack is a plus.
