The Role
Job Summary & Responsibilities:
The Post Production Producer (full-time, salaried, regular) will oversee and execute the video post production process to support MotorTrend Group’s short form video operations across multiple initiatives including Editorial Video, Video Buyer’s Guide, & Custom/Branded Content. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage post production timeline and crew milestones to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Upkeep project tracker to ensure key project details are up to date and report updates during the daily stand-up meeting.
- Create/approve post production calendars and communicate schedule changes to key stakeholders.
- Book & manage freelance post production crew including Editors, Assistant Editors, Motion Graphics Artists, Colorists, & Audio Mixers.
- Draft submission emails including edit caveats and feedback deadlines for internal and client video review processes.
- Consolidate internal & client feedback, and confirm all notes have been addressed by Editor & Creative Director.
- Uphold studio best practices including file-naming, project organization, and other shared server conventions.
- QC review submissions & final deliverables, as well as execute delivery of final assets to stakeholders & platforms.
- Ensure server archive of collected project assets following final delivery.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position may include supervising one or more employees where applicable. Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage schedule of Assistant Editors, Editors, Motion Graphics Artists, and finishing artists.
- Provide consistent training, support, and mentorship to team
- Review and approve individual timecards (as needed) and time-off requests to ensure optimal staffing levels
- Effective, fair, and consistent performance management
- Fairly and consistently ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Education/Experience:
- Minimum (1) year producing digital video content in a studio or agency environment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- General knowledge of digital video post production workflows and best practices.
- Understanding of deliverable specifications including video codecs, framerates, bitrates, and file extensions.
- Skilled at problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Ability to prioritize competing tasks in a busy production environment
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to sit for prolonged period of time and view computer screen.
Equipment/Software Used:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, & Drive)
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Premiere, AfterEffects, Photoshop, InDesign) a major plus.
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in an office environment that is well lit and ventilated.
