Principal Consultant - Audiovisual

- Lead and execute discipline-specific audiovisual design efforts on complex, multi-stakeholder projects, ensuring high-quality, coordinated, and constructible deliverables from concept through completion.
- Serve as a technical authority across audiovisual systems design, providing guidance, design reviews, and decision support to engineers, designers, and project teams.
- Manage project health by monitoring scope, schedule, and financial alignment, proactively identifying risks and recommending corrective actions to maintain delivery success.
- Partner with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to translate requirements into effective AV solutions while building strong, trust-based relationships.
- Contribute to design standards, workflows, and documentation improvements, including updates to templates, tools, and discipline best practices.
- Support mentorship and technical development of junior staff by providing coaching, structured feedback, and participation in design reviews and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Participate in project pursuits, technical proposals, and client interviews by shaping AV narratives and contributing to winning project strategies.
- 8+ years of experience in audiovisual systems design or related AEC discipline, with a strong track record of delivering complex, coordinated technical projects.
- Proven ability to lead or support multi-discipline project delivery with minimal oversight, ensuring quality, accuracy, and alignment with client expectations.
- Strong technical expertise in audiovisual design workflows, including system coordination, documentation standards, and project delivery processes.
- Proficiency with industry tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft 365, and collaborative platforms like GitHub or equivalent.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and build trusted advisory relationships.
- Experience contributing to design standards, QA/QC processes, and technical documentation improvements in a structured environment.
- Preferred certifications such as CTS-D, CDT, PE, EIT, or PMP, depending on career background.
