Principal Solutions Analyst

As a Principal Solutions Analyst, you will engage with Flexe clients and prospects for large or new programs which have significant complexity, risk, and high degree of ambiguity to build the solutions design for a successful program launch.  You will improve how Solutions Design operates to achieve business and technology goals.  You identify risks and opportunities from complex programs and work across teams to simplify them.  

You will work with our Business Development team as the technical and product expert, developing the project scope, identifying new technology or engineering requirements, and ensuring the proposed solution is technically and operationally sustainable.  You will follow each project through the implementation process ensuring that your design continues to meet the customer needs as new information is discovered along the way. Your design and guidance will have a direct impact on our ability to successfully hit project timelines and service our clients profitably. You are a critical internal stakeholder for our operational teams who rely on your solution design to be effective for our warehouse partners to execute and to meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities


  • Scoping
  • Partner with the commercial owner and client via email, phone, or in person to confirm the project scope and identify client needs and appropriate solution options.
  • Review and complete scope documents to fully document customer requirements.
  • Design end-to-end system processes to ensure common understanding of customer design and technical requirements prior to implementation.
  • Provide guidance on parcel shipping options to customers and our internal team.  
  • Partner with the Industrial Engineering team to ensure physical layout and equipment design will meet customer throughput requirements.
  • Promptly escalate risk and comply with scope change control procedures.  

  • Product Expert
  • Become an expert in Flexe’s proprietary logistics software offerings, including: configuration requirements, billing functionality, transportation capabilities, and integration.
  • Partner with Flexe product managers and monitor the Flexe product roadmap to ensure new products are leveraged successfully to win new revenue.
  • Identify potential product gaps in WMS software and partner with Flexe product and software developers to determine if new technology can be built in the required client timeline.  Includes:
  • Documenting functional requirements.
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on user experience for new technology.
  • Receiving development estimates and comparing against the customer's scoped timeline.
  • Demo Flexe software to senior members of potential clients or warehouses to demonstrate the Flexe value propositions and how Flexe would configure and deploy our software to meet their needs.
  • Partners with Technical Project Managers and Integration Analysts to ensure business requirements of a client are met and delivered by the development teams.

  • Commercial Support
  • Provide guidance to Business Development which FLEXE pricing levers are appropriate for the solution.
  • Communicate relevant scope changes that impact pricing back to the Business Development team. 

  • Implementation
  • Provide support to the project implementation team to ensure customer requirements are implemented successfully.
  • Ensure any scope changes that are discovered during launch are accounted for and documented in the final solution design.
  • Travel to support launches with complex designs or new software.
  • Leadership
  • Provide mentorship to junior Flexe team members.
  • Provide industry expertise and thought leadership to the technical team to support the design and development of high quality logistics solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or other technical field
  • 10-15 years experience managing or designing a warehouse operation
  • Prior experience in a solutions design role for a 3PL.
  • At least 8 years experience with WMS or OMS software; configuring, troubleshooting, testing, using or supporting the software.
  • Experience with warehouse IT integrations and solutions design.
  • Proven experience identifying needs and designing WMS features to meet client requirements.
  • Project management experience, working on multiple projects at once, coordinating communication, escalating risk and changes.
  • Experience working in a sales environment, either in direct sales or as a technical sales expert preferred.
  • Experience working with both LTL and Parcel transportation companies preferred.
  • Strong quantitative data analysis and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without restriction. We will not be sponsoring visas for this role at this time.
  • This role is fully remote.
