Role Summary
The Procurement Manager will provide support for the procurement department. The candidate must possess strong commercial acumen, experience in handling international suppliers, and be highly skilled in import/export documentation. As a key team member, he /she will be managing the procurement process, ensuring smooth operations and efficient sourcing for our HMG projects.
The individual should also be passionate about solving one of Nigeria’s most critical challenges – the energy access deficit. This position provides the opportunity to join a growing team that is changing the face of rural electrification in many countries in Asia and Africa, including India, Nigeria, etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement of solar components (e.g., panels, inverters, batteries) from both local and international vendors.
- Lead vendor sourcing, evaluation, and development to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing.
- Negotiate contracts, prices, and delivery schedules to drive cost savings and secure favourable terms.
- Handle import procurement including documentation, customs clearance, and international logistics coordination.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Projects, Finance, Warehouse) for procurement planning and timely execution.
- Monitor vendor performance and resolve supply-related issues to maintain smooth project execution.
- Lead and manage the procurement team, setting priorities and ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Maintain and analyse procurement data for reporting, trend analysis, and decision-making.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of POs, contracts, and delivery logs to support audits and internal controls.
- Stay updated on market trends, new suppliers, and pricing dynamics in the solar industry.

Required Skills & Attributes
- 7 – 10 years of experience in FMCG, infra, or construction companies. Energy or solar industry preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Proficiency in English and local Nigerian languages, with an understanding of local business practices.
- Strong understanding of commercial agreements, vendor negotiations, and supply chain strategies.
- Expertise in import/export procedures, documentation, and compliance with global trade laws.
- Deep understanding of Nigerian culture and business environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with both local and international suppliers.
- Experience working in diverse environments.
- The ability to manage people, work under pressure, and meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Ability to multi-task and deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations.
- Ability to negotiate and have high attention to detail.
- Ability to engage with cross-functional teams for the implementation of projects and program requirements.
- Has a comprehensive understanding of business process improvement, benefit and risk management
Location of the Job
- This role is based in Abuja, Nigeria
- Will be required to travel to rural areas and plant sites.
Salary:
N500,000 to N800,000 monthly gross based on experience.
