Procurement Manager - Supply Chain

Weetabix, a leading UK breakfast cereal producer, is looking for a driven and motivated Supply Chain Procurement Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of all materials required for production, as well as negotiating contracts with suppliers and optimizing costs to meet company objectives. Responsibilities

  • Source to specification and business needs of allocated categories
  • Source, implement and introduce new suppliers using the Weetabix Strategic Sourcing Process
  • Manage and measure supplier performance in line with contract terms
  • Input into forecast and budgeting process of allocated spend areas and deliver financial targets
  • Negotiate the best terms
  • Risk assess supply and put mitigation actions in place
  • Business partner with stakeholders to ensure an optimal supply base performance
  • Lead and manage projects in allocated categories and support procurement strategies
  • Deploy and implement procurement best practice processes and techniques.
  • Raise awareness and communicate impact of market drivers related to allocated categories
  • Actively use procurement technology for sourcing, spend management, contract management
  • Update and input KPIs to support functional KPIs and apply corrective action when off track
  • Ensure all expenditure is sourced, permitted and transacted through approved processes

Requirements

Must have:

  • Procurement experience in Warehouse and/or UK Road Haulage, EU Haulage, Freight Forwarding
  • Professional and Technical experience in strategic sourcing / category management / managing tenders / Contract Management and fulfilment
  • Stakeholder Management; Skilled negotiator; Highly analytical
  • Skilled in supplier relationship management with strategic suppliers
  • Able to identify and utilise commercial opportunities
  • Strong influencing skills; confident logical decision maker; good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Competent project management skills with a short, medium- and long-term view of impact

Preferred:

  • CIPs qualified / Indirect Procurement Experience

Technical / professional qualifications:

  • Understanding and knowledge of contract law and processes
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office packages
  • Intermediate use of Excel
