Product Manager - Internal Tools & Platform
About OctaiPipe
OctaiPipe is a young, ambitious company with
the vision to be the global driving force for the next paradigm of foundational, physical AI that ensures our connected world, and its critical infrastructure, is safe, secure and sustainable. We are growing fast, having closed a recent funding round and looking to accelerate rapidly. OctaiPipe is offering the right candidate an exciting role on this adventure!
OctaiPipe is on a mission to revolutionise the optimisation of energy in data centres through decentralised artificial intelligence (AI). To do this, OctaiPipe is harnessing an elegant but revolutionary idea. Rather than move the data from the source, move the algorithms to the data to learn at the data source. This learning can be achieved with the intelligence of many devices through novel federated AI technology. OctaiPipe is developing the AI for Cooling Efficiency (ACE) application to be deployed using its own in-house distributed AI platform.
The Role
We’re looking for a Product Manager to own our internal tools and platform product as it evolves from a set of internal tools into a coherent, productised suite for developing, deploying and maintaining physical AI applications to critical infrastructure environments. You will work closely with the VP of Product and Internal Tools tech lead to define what we build, why we build it, and how it all fits together - starting with the workflows that enable ACE delivery and growing from there.
This is an opportunity to do meaningful, foundational product work at a company building at the frontier of physical AI. The internal platform you shape will directly determine how quickly and reliably we can deploy AI solutions into critical infrastructure environments around the world.
What You’ll Work On
Near term: Enabling ACE delivery
You will take ownership of the tools our teams use to deliver ACE into client data centres and subsequently monitor and maintain these deployments. This includes understanding the current landscape of internal tools (and the gaps in it), defining the workflows that matter most — from site onboarding to digital twin configuration, model deployment to performance monitoring — and building a coherent internal portal that makes the right tools discoverable and usable.
Long term: A platform for physical AI
The long-term vision is a fully featured platform for developing, deploying and maintaining secure and privacy-preserving federated AI solutions in critical physical infrastructure environments. You will contribute to shaping that vision and ensure that near-term decisions are made with the longer arc in mind.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the internal tools roadmap. Maintain a clear, prioritised backlog of tool improvements, new tools, and integrations — aligned to ACE delivery milestones and the evolving platform vision.
- Drive agile development process execution. Lead on roadmap prioritisaton, sprint planning and agile ceremonies. Collaborate with R&D on managing the backlog, defining acceptance criteria and product requirements.
- Design the internal portal. Lead the design of a coherent internal portal that consolidates all tools into a single discoverable surface, with clear navigation, sensible integrations, and documentation of each tool’s purpose and status.
- Map and improve user workflows. Work closely with delivery engineers, data scientists, and operations teams to deeply understand how they work today, identify pain points, and translate that into actionable product requirements.
- Drive tool integrations. Define and prioritise integrations between tools — ensuring that data, context, and workflows flow smoothly across the suite rather than requiring manual hand-offs.
- Maintain coherence as the suite grows. As new tools are built or adopted, ensure they fit logically into the overall suite — with consistent design patterns, clear ownership, and no unnecessary duplication.
- Contribute to platform strategy. Actively participate in shaping the longer-term vision — thinking about what it means to productise the platform for external partners and, eventually, for a broader market of physical AI applications.
About You
Required
- Experience working as a Product Manager or Product Owner within an agile software development team, ideally including internal tools or technical platforms.
- Strong instincts for user workflow and experience— able to observe how technical teams work, identify what slows them down, and translate that into clear product requirements.
- Comfort working closely with engineers and data scientists — you don’t need to write code, but you need to understand technical constraints and trade-offs at a working level.
- A systems thinker who gets genuine satisfaction from making disparate things coherent — you care about how tools fit together, not just how individual tools work.
- Clear written and verbal communicator, comfortable working across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with AI/ML product development, particularly around model deployment, monitoring, or data pipelines.
- Experience in or exposure to industrial, infrastructure, or OT (operational technology) environments.
- Experience taking an internal tool or platform towards a productised or partner-facing offering.
- Experience developing products for physical systems, including simulation or digital twins.
- Comfortable working Python and SQL for data analytics and visualisation.
- Hands on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
