Program Manager for Day Program that serves adults with I/DD
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Program Manager to co-lead Wellspring Community's in-person Day Program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This role is responsible for overseeing daily program operations, supporting instructional quality, supervising Teachers and substitute staff, and ensuring a positive, engaging experience for participants.
The Program Manager works in close partnership with the other Program Manager, collaborating daily to ensure consistency across the Day Program. Together, they share responsibility for supporting teachers, maintaining program quality, solving operational challenges, and fostering a collaborative, mission-driven culture.
The Program Manager also collaborates closely with the Program Director, Behavior Support Manager, and Resource Coordinators to provide high-quality services that promote participant independence, skill development, and community engagement.
This position oversees the participant scheduling process each trimester, balancing participant preferences, staffing, transportation, room capacities, and program resources to maximize participant success.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate a team of Teachers, Program Supports and substitute staff through regular one-on-one meetings, classroom observations, and ongoing performance feedback
- Partner closely with the other Program Manager to ensure consistency in leadership, communication, staff coaching, operational decisions, and participant experience across the Day Program
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the in-person Day Program to include leading Morning Connections, and dismissing participants to classes and bus routes
- Observe classes, both onsite and in the community, to ensure high-quality instruction, participant engagement, and alignment with program goals
- Foster a positive, collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven team culture
- Oversee the participant scheduling process each trimester, ensuring schedules maximize participant success while balancing participant preferences, staffing, transportation, room capacities, and program resources
- Monitor program documentation for quality and compliance, including program notes, incident reports, and staff documentation
- Serve as a member of the Crisis Crew Response Team and support implementation of organizational safety procedures
- Organize, coordinate, lead, and document all required safety drills in accordance with Colorado state regulations, ensuring staff preparedness, participant safety, and compliance with organizational policies
- Assist with management of portions of the Day Program budget, ensuring efficient use of staffing, supplies, equipment, and other program resources
- Build strong relationships with participants, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
- Support participant onboarding and transitions into programming
- Collect and analyze program data to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement
- Lead the planning and execution of Wellspring's annual Winter Showcase and Summer Celebration
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the Day Program
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, solve problems collaboratively, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in special education, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of three years of experience working with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a community or day program setting
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
- Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience coordinating schedules, staffing, or program operations
- Strong understanding of person-centered planning and best practices for adult learning and community-based programming
- Ability to build strong relationships with participants, families, staff, and community partners
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems
- Must successfully pass required background checks and drug screening and obtain DOT certification
Schedule & Flexibility
- This is a full-time, primarily in-person position aligned with program hours. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
- After successful completion of the introductory period, Program Managers receive one weekly work from home day.
Position Classification: Full-Time/Exempt
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
