Know our team

Nutrition International’s Program Operations Unit is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of Nutrition International’s core program interventions including program development, design, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting, and grant management, including setting annual operational planning, budgeting, and review processes. The unit comprises a global team of professionals located in our 10 core countries across Asia, Africa and our headquarters in Ottawa, Canada. Nutrition International is seeking applications for Program Officer, Livelihoods - PINGS Project to be based in Senegal – Kaffrine-Kedougou / Kolda.

About you

Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or other related field from a recognized university or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

3 years’ experience working in nutrition,3 years’ experience supporting nutrition project

Experience working with the Microsoft Office

Ability to plan and organize work to meet deadlines, and to accommodate to new situations within the organization (flexibility)

Ability to work under pressure, Strong numerical skills, Excellent interpersonal skills, Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, Attention to details, Integrity and teamwork

About the role

In this role you will be

As part of the Zonal Coordination Team, the Program Officer – Nutrition will provide support to the regions in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of gender-responsive nutrition interventions targeting women, adolescent girls and children under five years of age.

The Program Officer – Nutrition will work closely with health districts and academic inspectorates (Ministry of Education) to design and implement gender-responsive action plans that include essential nutrition and SRH services and improve the delivery and access of these services to women and adolescent girls.

S/he will also ensure environmental considerations are integrated into nutrition interventions to reduce the environmental impacts in targeted communities.
