Project Management Specialist - EU Institution in Malta - Hybrid Working Mode

For our customer based in Malta - a European Institution, we are looking for an Project Management Specialist to join our team in the area of international protection - supporting Member States in applying the package of EU laws that govern asyluminternational protection, and reception conditions. You will play a crucial role in collaborating with the IT Team, Product Owners and Business Stakeholders, on the analysis and design of evolutionary changes, new features, and improvements. 

We need a project management professional who can work onsite in Malta, (with an option to work remotely from anywhere in the EU for as many days as requested, if arranged before the contract signing), and is able to work as a freelancer (B2B) without a need for visa/work permit sponsorship from our company.

More specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Determining and documenting the project’s goals, deliverables, tasks, costs, and deadlines;

  • Assisting in the creation of and adjustments to a detailed project plan outlining the scope, timeline, resources, quality and milestones;

  • Identifying and following up on the management of project dependencies and critical path;

  • Maintaining stakeholder engagement and communication;

  • Coordinating project events like workshops, trainings, and project board meetings;

  • Assisting coordination, recording and ensuring of quality compliance, and periodic evaluation of project risks;

  • Supporting in the development of and implementation of mitigation strategies to minimize their impact;

  • Circulating and distributing information from the project owner;

  • Maintaining comprehensive project documentation for future reference and compliance;

  • Supporting project change management;

  • Supporting the project officer and team members to ensure timely completion of administrative tasks;

  • Preparing and presenting regular status reports to stakeholders;

  • Ensuring the project helps to support the organisation’s wider goals, and complies to all the project governance criteria;

Requirements

Are you the perfect match?

  • Possession of a University degree (BSc/MSc)

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in project management

  • Professional experience of project coordination and training procedures, preferably involving a recognised methodology;

  • Professional experience of project management of digital/ICT-related projects

  • Professional experience with MS Office and MS Project. The following technologies and environments are required by the implementation:

  • Ability to independently perform tasks management in the Atlassian suite, Azure DevOps or similar software.

  • Ability to perform the tasks utilising the client’s project management methodology

  • Ability to perform the tasks utilising the client’s enterprise architecture methodology
