Project Manager, Risk Business Operations

Job Description:

Dow Jones Risk is seeking a commercially aware, highly organized, and delivery-focused Project Manager to join the Risk Business Operations team. Reporting to the Business Operations Director, this role will help drive high-priority initiatives across the Risk business by translating strategic priorities into clear plans, aligned workstreams, and measurable outcomes. This role is best suited to someone with experience leading complex initiatives in matrixed organizations and bringing structure to ambiguity without losing sight of business objectives. You will connect teams, strengthen execution discipline, and support go-to-market readiness so key initiatives are delivered with focus and are commercially and operationally prepared for launch.

What you will do

Project and program delivery

  • Lead a portfolio of strategic and operational projects across the Risk business from scoping through execution and close.
  • Build and maintain clear project plans, timelines, governance structures, RAID logs, decision trackers, and stakeholder updates.
  • Coordinate complex initiatives across multiple workstreams, dependencies, priorities, and operating rhythms.
  • Identify risks, bottlenecks, and decisions early, and work with the right stakeholders to keep delivery on track.
  • Drive strong follow-through on actions, decisions, and deliverables, especially where ownership is shared across teams.

Cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management

  • Act as a connective layer across the Risk business to align priorities, timelines, handoffs, and execution expectations.
  • Partner effectively with Product, Proposition, Data, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Customer Service, Communities, Operations, and other teams to surface and manage dependencies early.
  • Bring clarity and structure to high-visibility initiatives involving senior stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Prepare concise, executive-ready updates that clearly communicate progress, risks, decisions, and next steps.

Go-to-market and operational excellence

  • Support go-to-market planning and launch coordination to ensure key initiatives are commercially, operationally, and internally ready before launch.
  • Track launch-related risks and dependencies, escalating issues early and supporting cross-functional resolution.
  • Build and program-manage a competitor intelligence program for the Risk team, including operating rhythms, insight capture, and stakeholder outputs.
  • Improve processes, governance, planning cycles, and ways of working to support scale, growth, and stronger execution discipline.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, program management, business operations, strategy execution, or a similar cross-functional role, with proven success in comparable positions.
  • A proven track record of leading complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility with senior leaders and subject matter experts in matrixed environments.
  • Strong judgment and a structured approach to planning, prioritization, problem-solving, and decision management, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to prepare executive-ready updates and decks, and to present clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with collaboration and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, Airtable, or Smartsheet, along with strong proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • Experience supporting go-to-market initiatives, operational improvements, or work in a B2B, information services, data, or risk-related environment is a plus; experience working within similar commercial frameworks and some knowledge of the Risk industry would be a strong advantage.
