Position Summary
The role of the Project Manager is to successfully manage Thycotic’s packaged and custom engagements through the full project lifecycle, from project kickoff through closeout, including facilitating requirements gathering, kickoff calls/meetings, and managing the scope, schedule, budget, resources, and overall delivery for Professional Services Engagements. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for process improvement, is a detail oriented and strategic thinker and enjoys collaboration in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. Being able to multi-task and prioritize is a must.
Project Managers are the glue of Thycotic engagements, partnering with both clients and internal teams to ensure project success. The Project Manager works closely with consultants, architects, and operations managers within the Professional Services team, and with staff from other departments within Thycotic including Technical Support, Product Management, Customer Success, and Sales. The Project Manager is a leader, responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, and on budget, while providing timely and relevant updates to internal and external stakeholders as needed. The Project Manager will create and maintain project plans outlining tasks, milestones, and deadlines, and will manage resource capacity across a dedicated delivery team.
This position will report to the Director of Project Management. Ideally, the candidate will be located in the DC metro area, however strong remote candidates will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate services project requirements gathering calls, regular status and other meetings.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, and deliverables from inception to execution.
- Facilitate and document requirements as needed.
- Deliver projects in alignment with internal project standards.
- Schedule working sessions for the duration of the engagement.
- Ensure timely internal handoff and external kickoff calls after deal close and set clear expectations internally and externally for each project.
- Use project management software to create/maintain clear project plans, as well as tracking status, risks, and issues.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and PS leadership to keep all informed about project status, and effectively drive the project and any issue resolution.
- Work closely with clients’ project managers to ensure that there is a joint understanding of the scope, timeframe, and deliverables of the project, including any items requiring change requests. Ability to collaborate with clients is a must.
- Work closely with the larger project management team to align and continually drive improvements to our processes and methodology.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher or equivalent experience.
- CompTIA Project +, PMP, CSM or similar certification is preferred.
- 3+ years of project management experience for software or IT companies. Cyber Security Project Management experience is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Proven ability to effectively engage and work with clients, sales, consultants, and other technical roles.
- Solid experience with project management tools such as SmartSheet.
- Previous experience using a Customer Relationship Management system such as Salesforce.
