Prototype Engineering Technician

Role - The Prototype Engineering Technician is a highly cross functional role, leveraging practical electro-mechanical experience to support engineers across the business. Projects will vary greatly from day to day, including but not limited to test fixture assemblies, system level diagnostics and root cause analysis, wiring harness builds, and embedded system builds. This person must thrive on having many different projects on their plate and must display an equally strong ability to manage and prioritize their projects accordingly, with the direction of their manager.
Responsibilities – You should be confident making significant contributions in the following categories:
- Lead multi-disciplinary and complex project builds of all types
- Support implementation of prototypes and new technology in terra-farms
- Support engineering with root cause analysis and document findings effectively
- Communicate effectively across all relevant stakeholder on respective projects
- Advise on process and design improvements as necessary
- Train and support new technicians as necessary
- Display safe and efficient habits while working, especially in close proximity with high-power equipment
Requirements – Your background should include the following:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience diagnosing and building complex electro-mechanical systems
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering or development environment
- Must be comfortable working with high voltage AC and DC systems
- Ability to interpret technical documentation such as wiring diagrams and mechanical diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of programming
- Ability to perform light to moderate fabrication
- Experience in CAD preferred
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to collaborate well with others in a fast-paced environment
- Highly analytical and very keen on details
- Effective oral and written communication skills
