Purchasing Director
Eurofins Scientific is looking for a Purchasing Director, who will work in a fast growing organisation and a multinational environment.
The responsibilities of the Purchasing Director will be to:
- Lead a team of Category Managers & Buyers (approx.. 30 FTE) to drive Savings, across all Direct and indirect categories, with a focus on bottom line impact and Savings in Consumables
- Reporting directly to the Head of Purchasing, Legal, Risk management and Insurance
- Manage a set of local Purchasing Leaders in the countries
- Set targets for the Purchasing Managers in the regions, manage their priorities, train them and unblock issues
- Be part of the Purchasing Lead Team to drive the future of the organization and priorities
- Identify projects for cost optimization through effective spend data analysis
- Conduct negotiations with the biggest suppliers in the Countries
- Personally manage the biggest Savings projects for the regions and for the Division
- Ensure effective supplier selection, vendor management and global tendering processes
- Draft and review purchasing contracts in line with business objectives
- Complete the team by recruiting new talent into Eurofins
- Further expand the use of Coupa, the Group Purchase to Pay tool
- Define and implement standard buying processes, leveraging Coupa
- Learn about Eurofins specific processes, best-practices, systems and tools and implement them to the regions in scope
- Drive Coupa adoption and PO compliance in the Regions
Communicate results to Division Leadership
- University degree in Supply Management, Finance, Economics or equivalent directly-related experience
- Business Fluency in English
- 8+ years of experience in purchasing/ procurement/ strategic sourcing/ SC area with an emphasis on international Purchasing Management or on a similar position
- Excellent knowledge of whole range of different Categories
- Understanding and experience of working with a defined procurement process
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and prioritize appropriately in a dynamic work environment
- Strong data analysis skills and ability to work with complex data and information
- Operational experience related to the Lab business
- Desktop/ PC proficiency including Microsoft Office, specifically: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
