The opportunity
We are looking for a motivated person with a strong interest in the Public Sector to join our Clients & Marketing team. The role is based in our Wellington office but provides support nationally.
Reporting to the Clients & Sectors Lead, your focus will be to support and drive our most significant Consulting pursuits and proposals, with a focus on Public Sector, from initial positioning and qualification through to delivery and debrief.
You’ll work closely with our partners and directors, leveraging your knowledge of project management, sales, and communication best practices, to ensure we deliver compelling bids and presentations to our clients.
What will your day look like?
Typical responsibilities:
- Work with Clients & Marketing, Consulting and Public Sector team colleagues to identify and manage the firm’s pipeline of pursuits
- Ensure pursuits are robustly qualified using our pursuit qualification processes. Prepare materials to inform/qualify pursuit decisions. Facilitate qualification sessions
- Bring a client focused lens to all aspects of the pursuit process. Support bid teams to develop bid strategies, plans and win themes. Drive bid processes from planning to delivery, ensuring we deliver high quality proposal and presentations to our clients
- Conduct bid post-decision reviews with clients and internal debriefs with bid teams, ensuring lessons learned are shared and leveraged to inform future pursuits
- Help to build internal sales & pursuit capability throughcontributing to pursuit focused training activity. Actively maintain and develop our suite of pursuit related resources.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you
We’re looking for a Manager with 5-6+ years’ experience in a relevant role but we’re open to speaking to strong Senior Advisors with 3+ years’ experience looking to take the next step.
Ideally, you’ll bring a proven track record in sales, pursuits, account management, project management or communications, preferably within a professional services firm or corporate environment, and you’ll have a strong interest in the Public Sector.

- The willingness and ability to learn and grow
Desirable
- A proven track record in sales, pursuits, account management, project management or communications, preferably within a professional services firm or corporate environment
- An understanding of NZ’s Public Sector, in particular how government agencies purchase and contract for services
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Ao Māori and tikanga Māori
- Experience managing or coordinating bid responses
- Strong writing and editing skills
