R&D Scientist (m/f/d)

TLDR

Develop and improve capacitive diaphragma gauges (CDGs), lead R&D projects, collaborate across disciplines, validate designs, and represent INFICON at conferences.

  • Develop and improve capacitive diaphragma gauges (CDGs)

  • Contribute to and lead technology studies and R&D development projects

  • Provide technical expertise and application support within the organization

  • Monitor patents and technological developments

  • Design and conduct verification and validation tests

  • Support product lifecycle management and controlled product changes

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including electronics, production, and product management

  • Participate in conferences, workshops, and panel discussions to represent INFICON and exchange knowledge with the scientific community

  • Master’s or PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related field

  • Strong understanding of thermal physics or gas dynamics

  • Programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB)

  • Fluent in English and German

  • Experience with experimental work and laboratory testing

  • Knowledge of vacuum technology is an advantage

  • Hands-on mentality and structured working style

  • Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams

  • Enjoy working with international colleagues

  • Willingness to travel worldwide
