Regulatory Communication Specialist
ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Communications Specialist - Regulatory Compliance leads the development of health plan regulatory and operational member materials. They manage the development, review and legal/compliance approval of commercial documents for Bright Health Individual & Family Plans.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the development of core commercial health plan regulatory documents: Summary of Benefits and Coverage, Schedule of Benefits, and Certificate of Coverage
- Serve as expert on state and federal regulations pertaining to document requirements for the commercial line of business
- Assist the Member Materials Program Manager in the management of communications projects and ensure alignment across the business
- Organize and facilitate live document review sessions
- Monitor, analyze, and report on the performance of process review cycle
- Collaborate with department leads to address quality issues (where needed)
- Communicate and follow up with stakeholders to ensure efficient development of materials
- Identify, develop, and execute scalable process improvements related to document creation
- Manage technology-based solutions for member materials and digital asset management
- Manage external agency engagement process and spend reports
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field highly preferred
- Four (4) or more years of relevant experience in marketing, communications and/or program management; Two (2) or more years’ experience if they hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Knowledge of health plan operations and state/federal regulations applicable to member materials is a significant advantage
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
- Ability to effectively manage multiple work-streams simultaneously - in both an independent and team environment - collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work successfully with a cross-section of internal clients, including product, marketing, legal, compliance, and print production
- Comfortable learning and using innovative document composition software
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The majority of work responsibilities are performed in an open office setting, carrying out detailed work sitting at a desk/table and working on the computer. Some travel may be required.
