 The Sales Operations Manager will be focused on supporting sales for LinkedIn’s Marketing Solutions business across the mid-market segment.  The Manager will act as an advisor to executives in the sales organization and is responsible for helping crack the most important strategic and operational problems facing the Marketing Solutions business.  The individual will identify problems, think of solutions and lead the execution of those solutions. The candidate will also own the day to day operations, from reporting results to delivering a QBR (Quarterly Business Review) to building sales territories to setting sales targets to advising senior sales leaders on how to improve performance. 

 The Manager should be able to handle highly sensitive, confidential, and non-routine information supporting a rapidly changing organization. Using strong communication skills, the Manager will effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in a challenging and fast-paced environment. The candidate is expected to produce insights that can be utilized in executive level presentations and drive critical business decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise senior members of an ad sales organization on growing and optimizing their businesses by making data-driven, actionable recommendations that help them achieve their long-term strategic priorities
  • Lead ad hoc and operational projects that have regional or global impact, e.g. sales incentive design, forecast modeling, process improvement and automation
  • Set sales targets/quotas as part of semi-annual planning process
  • Provide operational support for sales teams by establishing and tracking KPIs and evaluating performance against targets
  • Partner with global sales operations peers and cross-functional teams such as Finance, Data Science, Business Operations, Compensation and Marketing
  • Mentor and help develop junior talent on the team
  • Be flexible – something unexpected always comes up
  • Some travel required (approximately 5-10 trips a year)

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in business or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in management consulting, finance, sales operations, business operations, or an analytical/operational role

Preferred Qualifications

  • MA/MS/MBA degree in business or related field
  • 3+ years of experience working in the media industry or in sales organizations
  • Experience with financial modeling and data analysis
  • Experience with Salesforce.com, Anaplan, SQL/relational databases, and reporting tools like Tableau
  • Expert knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Excellent communication, project and time management, writing and presentation skills with the ability to confidently interact with senior management
  • Extreme attention to detail (minimizing defects)
  • Experience leading meetings with and presenting to senior executives
  • Ability to see the insights beyond the numbers to drive sound decision making
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and work within deadlines with little supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment, and be comfortable with ambiguity
  • Ability to flex between day-to-day operations and broader strategic initiatives
