Security and Maintenance Specialist

Covenant Community Care, a faith based charitable non-profit Community Health Center serving the people of Metro Detroit has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Security and Maintenance Associate to work at its one of its Detroit-based clinics. This position will support an exceptional environment of care for our patients and staff by providing clinic security, minor facilities maintenance and outstanding customer service.
Overall duties will involve serving as the non-armed security guard during hours of operation, responding to security codes in an appropriate fashion while following all Covenant Community Care’s security protocols, and enforcement of our organization’s zero-tolerance of concealed weapons. Additional responsibilities include routinely monitoring of the facility areas (clinical, administrative and waiting room areas) identifying areas of concern; assisting patients as needed entering and exiting the building, particularly if help is needed with wheelchairs and walkers.
Maintenance responsibilities will require simple building and uncomplicated repairs while escalating larger and urgent facility needs to the facilities management team as well as monitoring the parking lot to maintain and keep areas free of debris, entry ways accessible and ensure interior and exterior lighting is appropriate at all times. Will also assist clinic staff with heavy moving needs, office supplies and other items as needed.
The successful candidate will possess a High School Diploma or GED. Prior experience and training in a security role is highly preferred. Must have the physical ability to safely lift and move heavy items, as required. Prior experience with building maintenance and repair and the ability to troubleshoot, identify solutions and initiate repairs using various tools including both manual and power tools is a plus.
