Security Operations Centre Operator

TLDR

Monitor real-time CCTV, access control and security alarms in a high-security data centre, coordinating incident response and maintaining regulatory compliance.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator to join our team within a critical data centre environment. This role is responsible for real-time monitoring of high-volume CCTV systems, access control platforms, and security alarms to ensure the safety, security, and integrity of the facility.

You will play a key role in detecting, assessing, and responding to incidents, while supporting on-site & business security operations and maintaining compliance with established procedures.

What will you do:

  • Monitor high-volume CCTV systems and detect abnormal or suspicious activity
  • Manage and respond to security alarms, incidents, and access control events
  • Operate and oversee electronic access control systems (e.g. IDACS)
  • Coordinate incident response, including escalation to on-site teams and emergency services
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation
  • Provide remote support to security personnel, contractors, and staff
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Support audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

  • Proven experience in high-volume CCTV monitoring within a security role
  • Experience in data centres, critical infrastructure, or high-security environments (highly regarded)
  • Strong situational awareness and ability to assess risk quickly
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 operations environment
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with multiple systems and technologies simultaneously
  • Current Security Licence (highly regarded)
  • Experience with access control and alarm monitoring systems
  • Understanding of incident response and escalation processes

Mandatory:

  • Australian Citizenship (required for AGSVA security clearance)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA security clearance (NV1)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Licence

Highly desirable:

  • AGSVA security clearance – Baseline or NV1
