Security Operations Centre Operator
TLDR
Monitor real-time CCTV, access control and security alarms in a high-security data centre, coordinating incident response and maintaining regulatory compliance.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator to join our team within a critical data centre environment. This role is responsible for real-time monitoring of high-volume CCTV systems, access control platforms, and security alarms to ensure the safety, security, and integrity of the facility.
You will play a key role in detecting, assessing, and responding to incidents, while supporting on-site & business security operations and maintaining compliance with established procedures.
What will you do:
- Monitor high-volume CCTV systems and detect abnormal or suspicious activity
- Manage and respond to security alarms, incidents, and access control events
- Operate and oversee electronic access control systems (e.g. IDACS)
- Coordinate incident response, including escalation to on-site teams and emergency services
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation
- Provide remote support to security personnel, contractors, and staff
- Ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Support audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
- Proven experience in high-volume CCTV monitoring within a security role
- Experience in data centres, critical infrastructure, or high-security environments (highly regarded)
- Strong situational awareness and ability to assess risk quickly
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 operations environment
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with multiple systems and technologies simultaneously
- Current Security Licence (highly regarded)
- Experience with access control and alarm monitoring systems
- Understanding of incident response and escalation processes
Mandatory:
- Australian Citizenship (required for AGSVA security clearance)
- Ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA security clearance (NV1)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Licence
Highly desirable:
- AGSVA security clearance – Baseline or NV1
