Senior Backend Engineer - Subscriptions
TLDR

What You'll Do
Collaborate with a cross-functional engineering team to build and evolve Spotify's subscription conversion experiences.
Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs using Java, gRPC, and GCP.
Partner with teams across the Subscriptions mission to support new products, plans, and global launches.
Build resilient backend systems that support millions of users across web and mobile.
Work closely with product managers and engineers to deliver technical solutions that solve meaningful customer and business problems.
Lead technical initiatives while mentoring teammates and raising engineering quality across the team.
Champion engineering best practices, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Who You Are
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy solving complex technical problems with others.
You have 5+ years of experience building backend systems at scale.
You have experience with Java, gRPC, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
You know how to design APIs and backend services consumed by multiple client platforms.
You care about writing maintainable, high-quality, production-ready software.
You have experience working with internal stakeholders to build reusable platforms and services.
Experience with subscription, conversion, commerce, or merchandising systems is a plus.
Where You'll Be
This role is based in London, England or Stockholm, Sweden.
We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
