Senior Business Development Manager
About the role:
As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will be a strategic leader and key driver in expanding our company's market presence. You will play a pivotal role in identifying, developing, and executing sales strategies that align with our long-term growth objectives.
Strategic Business Development
Lead and exceed sales targets for assigned markets by fostering strong relationships with distributors and monitoring sell-out performance.
Be ambitious and aggressive on business growth not only to current market sectors and business models, but also be agile to adopt and think of new solution for new opportunities under company guideline
Develop and implement strategic plans to stimulate endcustomer demand, working collaboratively with distributors to meet sales objectives within budget constraints.
Be a brand ambassador for the company, introduce company and tailor made company solution to the target customers in different sectors and business models
Provide product demonstration oneself or with channel partners to potential customers
Sector focus and Brand/Product Awareness: Identify different sector opportunities for different products.
Anticipate on changes in the retail landscape, shopper behaviour or competitors and develop a 360-degree business plan to ensure future profitable growth
Distributor Partnership and Management:
Apply company brand guidelines and provide strategic direction to distributors, ensuring transparency and effective channel management to prevent market disruption
Oversee distributor performance, including recruitment, maintenance, and optimization of the distribution network based on sales results, integrity, loyalty, and cost efficiency
Distribution system optimization: Separate, recruiting, maintaining distributors according to their sales performance, integrity & loyalty, cost management, creativity etc with score card review quarterly
Equip the distributor: provide product and sales training regularly, offer proper sales tools/marketing support;
Joint call with distributors for potential C-suite level meeting and help to spot out new opportunities in new sectors/new markets
Negotiation: Act as a gate keeper for discount/support with distributors.
Agree, update, communicate and administer all areas of the promotional planning cycle
Protect the brand and make sure no misuse or over use from distributor. All business related matter has to be monitored and reported to us from the distributor.
Business Forecast and Strategic Reporting
Deliver accurate sales forecasts and collaborate with sales planning to ensure optimal inventory levels for market demands.
Provide comprehensive market insights, identify opportunities and risks, and formulate strategic evaluations with actionable solutions and growth plans
Foster regular, transparent communication among stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and profitabilityProvide marketing insights and trend, spot out opportunities/risk , then provide evaluation with possible solution and growth plans
Regular communication among marketing team, sales planning, technical, and brand communication for lean process, drive efficiency, cost saving, and maximize profitability
Work closely with line manager ensuring full transparency, on-going reporting, and open communication at all times.
Timely report if there are urgent and important issues /conditions
About you:
Degree holder prefer to be engineering or business equivalent
Commercial 8-10 years of hands-on sales experience managing and developing distributors
Proven delivery of sales results (managing existing distributors & developing new business) – independent sales responsibility for either a consumer brand/ distributor leading sales team in a territory for a mid-sized company.
Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
Have positive attitude, hard working, and willing to take on challenges and overcome
Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities/risk and sales patterns
Planning, organization and problem solving skills
Be open minded, transparent to management, willing to try new things, and don't mind challenges daily
Experience in handling Taiwan market is a plus but not necessary
Work under good brand (know about value of branding), high end products (can deal with high selling price but cost driven sales) is prefered
Can speak English and Mandarin
