Title: Senior Data Scientist

Duties: The Senior Data Scientists (Multiple Positions Open) at Chime Financial, Inc. in San Francisco, California will build and implement novel machine learning and deep learning algorithms to combat financial fraud by developing and directing software system testing and validation procedures, programming and documentation. Understand the fraud and risk processes inherent to our projects and how to minimize the same by designing, developing and modifying software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design. Leverage new and existing data to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our decision-making infrastructure; work with engineers to design machine learning solutions that operate quickly and effectively at scale; and confer with systems analysts and programmers to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Partner with operatives to quickly respond to rapidly evolving threats; coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met; and store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance; and make business recommendations to the executive and cross-functional teams through effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information, with an end goal of building next generation data products at Chime. 

Requirements: Master's degree in Business Analytics and Project Management, Computer Science, or a related directly related field plus three years of experience as a data scientist. The three years of experience must including 3 years of experience with each of the following:  (1) building end-to-end Machine Learning (ML) solutions in the area of financial risk including fraud, scams, account takeovers, money laundering or in the area of high tech company growth; (2) building advanced machine learning algorithms including Random Forest, XG-Boost, LightGBM, LSTM, MLP, K-Means Clustering, and Naïve Bayes; and (3) creating production infrastructure for ML models leveraging PMML and Docker for ETL and model deployment.  Must also have two years of experience with each of the following: (1) using AWS services including EC2, S3, SSM, Athena, and Lambda; and (2) writing production level code in R, Python and SQL
