Senior Developer, Front End (2)
TLDR
Collaborate on a Rails-based front-end UI within an agile team, practicing test-driven development and modern JavaScript frameworks to ship features.
Contractually has an opportunity for two talented front-end software engineers. As part of a team of developers, designers and product experts, you'll deliver features on our front-end UI.
While our product is built with Ruby on Rails, we are happy to have developers without direct RoR experience grow into the role. All we ask is that you have a willingness to learn and previous web application programming experience in a language like Java, PHP, Python or Perl.
You will be responsible for contributing to an existing Ruby on Rails project, as well as occasional infrastructure management. We're always shipping code, and believe strongly in test-driven-development. We're also an agile development shop, and we write tools to avoid dull, repetitive tasks.
Qualifications:
- Several years of front-end coding experience for web applications (which may include work on open source, school or personal projects)
- At least three years of work experience
- Experience with a front-end development framework such as Bootstrap
- Experience with front-end Javascript frameworks such as Ember, Angular or Backbone
- Familiar with TDD approaches
Nice to have:
- Experience with common back-end frameworks (eg Ruby on Rails, PHP/Zend or others)
- User experience (UX) skills and experience
- You've mastered the art of test driven development with RSpec, Cucumber or Capybara
