Senior Director, Events

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Director to lead the execution of games and events at Chase Center and Thrive City. In this role, you will lead the Event Services and Special Events to deliver a world-class experience for fans, artists, clients, partners, promoters and teams. You will lead with a focus on staff development and overall operational efficiency. This position reports to the General Manager, Chase Center.

This is a full-time position based onsite in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of events at Chase Center, Thrive City, the Oakland Facility and offsite locations throughout the Bay Area
  • Lead team responsible for the planning and execution of onsite and offsite Warriors brand events in collaboration with Corporate Partnerships, Community Relations, Ticket Sales & Services and Premium
  • Lead team responsible for managing day-to-day operations (front and back of house) and event logistics for games, concerts, private events and VIP activations at Chase Center and Thrive City
  • Participate in collective bargaining agreement negotiations; play an instrumental role in Chase Center labor management for both union and non-union workforces
  • Lead all efforts to develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures, programs, policies and collateral
  • Lead the development and on-going administration of department budget; Ensure accurate estimates, bids, budgets and settlements
  • Develop and maintain a peer network among other arenas to advance upcoming shows and communicate to internal/external partners for planning purposes; conduct routine industry operational reviews
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with promoters, booking agents and artist representatives
  • Partner with Safety and Back of House Operations teams to ensure alignment on all safety initiatives and fire code compliance
  • Provide development and training opportunities to staff members to ensure their growth within the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years in event management, preferably in a multipurpose arena; 5 years of people management experience, including union staff
  • Extensive understanding of operational characteristics, services, and activities of live events and entertainment; principles of budget preparation and control
  • Experience in crisis management, emergencies, customer service technology, life safety, risk management, payroll, and scheduling
  • Familiarity with live entertainment venue management (i.e., security, retail operations, building operations, production, building engineering, parking, and food & beverage operations, guest experience, etc.) is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with internal partners (e.g., People Operations, Public Relations, Legal, Finance, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD for event layouts
  • Committed to providing extraordinary service and dedicated to exceeding client expectations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, attention to detail and resolution skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects and media scheduling in a fast-paced work environment

Time Commitment

  • Ability to work flexible and sometimes demanding schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays

Compensation

  • $159,000 - 168,000 + Bonus
