Senior Engineer - Data & Integration (Snowflake)
TLDR
Lead a data & integrations team delivering Snowflake-based data platforms and enterprise-grade integrations, driving quality, governance, and Scrum-driven delivery.
Team Management

Lead and directly manage a team of 8 engineers across the Data & Integrations domain, setting clear objectives and maintaining high standards

Coach and mentor team members on both technical skills (data engineering, integration patterns, BI) and professional development

Provide clear, constructive input into performance reviews and remuneration decisions

Develop individual career plans using OKRs; hold regular one-to-ones for ongoing feedback

Promote a culture of teamwork, knowledge sharing, and psychological safety

Build credibility with the team — set expectations, provide support, and celebrate strong performance

Collaborate closely with the DevOps Team Lead, Architecture Lead, and peer application Team Leads as part of the wider ITEA leadership group
Delivery & Quality

Drive delivery using Scrum best practices, maintaining sprint hygiene and predictable velocity

Own and coordinate release planning for team-owned integration and data services

Maintain quality standards across pipeline design, data modelling, and integration development

Monitor and continuously improve the stability, security, and performance of Snowflake, MySQL, Boomi, Talend, and Power BI estates

Lead the team's contribution to the Talend-to-Boomi migration programme, ensuring continuity of service during transition

Champion data governance practices — including data ownership, access control, cataloguing, and lineage — across the team's platforms

Lead incremental system improvements and identify technical debt for remediation

Encourage and enforce documentation and knowledge-sharing practices across the team
Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary point of contact for the Data & Integrations team with business and IT stakeholders

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with peer teams, business sponsors, and application owners

Communicate team plans, risks, and progress clearly and in a way that is accessible to non-technical audiences

Escalate problems, blockers, and exceptions promptly to the Senior Director, ITEA

Support the broader IT strategy and foster a culture aligned with Keyloop's mission, vision, and values
Operational Excellence

Support and lead incident investigation for integration failures and data pipeline incidents

Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for production issues; identify trends, weaknesses, and drive corrective actions

Ensure the team operates in compliance with GDPR and data residency obligations across all platforms handling personal or sensitive data

Maintain day-to-day vendor relationships with Boomi, Snowflake, and other platform providers — escalating issues and maximising value from licences and support agreements

Use delivery and quality metrics to drive continuous improvement across the team

Promote a results-driven, innovation-friendly team environment

Support hiring activities as required, including technical assessments and interviews

- Proven experience in data integration or data engineering, with hands-on exposure to at least two of: Snowflake, Boomi, Talend, MySQL, or Power BI in an enterprise environment

Experience leading or coordinating a technical delivery team of 5+ people, with evidence of coaching and performance development

Solid understanding of integration patterns (API, event-driven, batch ETL/ELT) and data pipeline design

Track record of working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments

Strong stakeholder communication skills — comfortable engaging from engineer to senior business sponsor

Familiarity with data governance principles including data ownership, access control, and GDPR obligations in a data platform context

Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain team focus under pressure

Hands-on experience with Snowflake SnowPark, Snowflake Data Sharing, or Snowflake Marketplace

Working knowledge of Boomi AtomSphere platform administration and connector configuration
-
Experience leading or contributing to an iPaaS migration or platform consolidation programme

Power BI development experience including semantic model design, DAX, and row-level security (RLS) in an enterprise reporting context

Experience managing day-to-day vendor relationships and SLA performance with SaaS platform providers

Exposure to ITSM processes (incident, change, problem management) in an enterprise IT context
