The Senior Engineering Manager, Software is responsible for leading Service R&D Software Engineering team to enable remote troubleshooting and diagnostics.

This is a senior leadership position and is part of the Global Service R&D Organization located in Bengaluru and will be an Onsite role. At Cytiva, our vision is to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you will do:

  • System & Software Engineering Leadership 
    Lead cross‑functional system and software engineering teams to design, develop, integrate, deploy, and sustain complex, regulated product and system solutions across the full product lifecycle. 
  • End‑to‑End Program & Release Management 
    Own delivery of system and software releases from requirements through production, ensuring on‑time execution, quality, performance, and defect metrics are met using structured project management practices. 
  • Planning, Estimation & Risk Management 
    Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, resource and competency models, and risk mitigation strategies with continuous tracking and corrective action throughout execution. 
  • Process, Quality & Regulatory Compliance 
    Implement, institutionalize, and continuously improve software and system engineering processes aligned with Agile/Lean, Continuous Delivery, DBS, ISO 13485, Cyber Security and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 & Part 11 requirements. 
  • Cross Functional Stakeholder Alignment 
    Partner with product management, documentation, training, deployment, support, and other engineering teams to ensure requirements of traceability, technical alignment, and clear communication across the lifecycle. 
  • People, Capacity & Capability Management 
    Lead workforce planning including hiring, onboarding, utilization management, technical mentoring, and performance development to support sustained delivery and organizational growth. 
  • Technical Oversight & Integration Strategy 
    Provide technical direction for system architecture and integration, ensuring software compatibility with instruments, firmware, cloud platforms, DevOps pipelines, and external systems while staying current on emerging technologies. 

Who you are:

  • 12–15+ years of professional software development experience, with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.  
  • Expert-level proficiency in enterprise software development using C#.NET to develop Windows Services , REACT JS, HTML, Java script code on .NET core/framework including REST APIs to develop Web Services, exposure to cloud technologies (e.g., AWS) and embedded systems preferred.  
  • 4+ years of direct personnel management experience, including hiring, performance management, prioritization, resource allocation, and delivery accountability.  
  • 3+ years leading end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-team software projects, ensuring milestones, quality, and timelines are met.  
  • Proven delivery of software products in regulated environments (e.g., medical instruments) under FDA, ISO, or equivalent compliance frameworks.  
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer insights and feedback into product design improvements and enhanced software functionality across platforms.  
  • Experience leading global, cross-functional teams and driving structured improvement initiatives (e.g., DBS or similar frameworks) with measurable outcomes in productivity, delivery, and compliance. 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Background in biotechnology or life sciences industry.
  • Experience delivering software in regulated (GMP) environments with an understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and documentation standards.
