Senior Finance Manager

The Role:

• This role will be focused on the revenue accounting side of the finance team with two direct reports, ensuring that revenue recognition is correct across all steams; including content production, advertising, subscription, and licencing & merchandising.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure prompt and accurate month end reporting.
• Review of Balance Sheet reconciliations within agreed timescales to ensure controls compliance.
• Adoption and monitoring of financial reporting standards across the group, ensuring accounting policies, controls and procedures are reviewed and updated to facilitate seamless adoption and ongoing control.
• Improving systems and procedures, to maintain a reliable and consistent reporting & control environment.
• Assist with the training and mentoring of junior and new finance staff members.
• Effectively manage direct reports providing guidance and support where necessary
• Production of ad hoc reports and analysis based on business requirements.
• Assist with the onboarding of new entities, including monthly reporting, making sure all costs are identified, liaising with functional departments both at entity and group level, ensuring all information is captured.
• Assist in the statutory audit process from the beginning to the end for all the entities in the group, including preparation of supporting schedules / audit information as requested by the auditors and resolution of audit queries.

Requirements

• Able to understand the bigger picture and how Finance's inputs and outputs can affect the business.
• A solid understanding and experience with deferred and accrued revenue and cost accounting
• Experience working within a fast growth business environment, able to prioritise in a fast moving & dynamic environment.
• Experience working with professionals of all levels, from junior team members to senior management.
• Strong interpersonal and team bonding skills to contribute to company values and team culture.
• Proactive and hands-on achiever, with good attention to detail
• Ability to mentor & develop staff, leading by example and demonstrating a strong sense of integrity, ethics and dependability.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working with USGAAP as well as UKGAAP would be a bonus.
• Experience working with NetSuite would be a bonus

Qualifications

• ACCA / CIMA qualified or equivalent - required
• Minimum of two years of post-qualification experience – required
• Experience in statutory audit process – required
• Experience in media industry – preferred
