Senior Fullstack Engineer, Lending (Clasp Finance)
TLDR
Design and ship full-stack lending workflows and data pipelines for a regulated fintech platform, influencing architecture and cross-functional collaboration.
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across loan origination, decisioning, servicing, and collections workflows
- Develop internal operational tools that enable teams to manage lending programs, reporting, and borrower or institution needs efficiently
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting credit modeling, compliance reporting, and portfolio analytics
- Participate in system architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical design discussions to ensure long-term platform reliability
- Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to implement regulatory requirements such as fair lending, credit policies, and state regulations
- Develop and optimize integrations with financial systems, external services, and lending infrastructure components
- Apply AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery speed
- Engage with technical stakeholders from partner institutions to support integrations and ensure system reliability
- Contribute to engineering best practices, documentation, and a culture of high ownership and continuous improvement
- 5 plus years of experience in software engineering with strong full-stack development expertise
- Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript or TypeScript with experience building production-grade applications
- Experience working on fintech, lending, payments, or other regulated financial systems is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience with web frameworks such as Django or equivalent Python frameworks and modern frontend libraries such as React
- Experience building internal tools, operational platforms, or workflow-heavy systems
- Familiarity with cloud or serverless infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or equivalent platforms
- Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and software architecture principles
- Experience working with data pipelines, ETL workflows, or event-driven systems is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in high-ownership, ambiguous startup environments with strong attention to detail
