Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

TLDR

Own the cloud infrastructure and IT operations for a fast-scaling AI-first health-tech platform, building automation and scalable systems to support a global remote workforce.

01Health is at an inflection point. The platform is built, revenue is accelerating, and we are moving from a single-specialty company to a multi-vertical specialist healthcare platform - with AI as embedded clinical infrastructure. Our vision is to help all clinicians deliver the latest innovations in healthcare, improving the standard of care for millions of people.  Backed by the investors behind Revolut, CityMapper, and Depop - we're scaling fast across the UK and beyond, and are looking for exceptional people to join us on our mission.  What is happening at 01Health right now: Balderton-backed Series A company 90% of UK patients can reach an 01Health–affiliated clinic within 30 minutes All growth has been inbound, ~50% word of mouth 4.98★ customer rating from the dentists who use us Aerox (sleep) ready for national rollout to top-performing 01Partners, with a 300+ clinic waitlist US expansion live New verticals being tested and prototyped We are not searching for product–market fit anymore. We are ready to dominate the market, and to do it across multiple medical specialties, transforming lives in the process. The role 01Health is scaling fast - and we need the infrastructure to match. As our first dedicated IT/Infra Engineer, you'll own the cloud infrastructure that powers our remote workforce, manage IT for our London office, and build the operational foundation that keeps 01Health running reliably as we scale. This isn't a ticket-closing role. We want someone who can firefight when needed but spends most of their time building the systems, processes, and automation that mean fires don't start in the first place. You'll sit within the engineering team, reporting to Nik (our tech lead), and work closely with Surendra (DevOps) and the wider tech and operations team. We are an AI-first company. We have a growing AI team building tooling across the business, and we expect this role to plug directly into that - identifying where repetitive IT and helpdesk work can be automated away and building or commissioning the tools to do it. There is real scope to reshape what an IT function looks like with AI at its core. What you'll do Cloud VM infrastructure Deploy, manage, and optimise cloud VMs (Azure Virtual Desktop and/or AWS WorkSpaces) for 60+ remote contractors across India, Egypt, and the Philippines Own on/offboarding workflows, access provisioning, monitoring, and incident response Architect the VM estate as we scale, including platform decisions (AWS vs Azure) and cost optimisation Treatment planning server administration Own the core treatment planning application used by our designer team - end to end: server performance, database management, disk space, version updates, and multi-server architecture as we grow Build runbooks and escalation paths so day-to-day application issues are handled without senior engineers being the only escalation path Work directly with the software vendor on scaling and architectural decisions Endpoint management Enrol and manage all company laptops via Microsoft Intune MDM, enforcing encryption, antivirus, and patch compliance Coordinate with our Head of People on physical device logistics Google Workspace Administer users, licences, SSO, and security settings across the organisation Close SSO gaps and manage integrations Helpdesk and IT support Be the primary point of contact for IT support across 40 London staff and 60+ remote contractors Triage, resolve, and document issues; build self-serve resources where possible Onboarding and offboarding Own account creation, access provisioning, and tool permissions end-to-end for all new starters and leavers Security and compliance Support 01Health's ISMS and GDPR, ISO 27001 and HIPAA compliance programmes Implement and maintain endpoint and access controls aligned with our ISMS Proactive maintenance Patching, monitoring, licensing management, and capacity planning across all systems   What you’ll have 4-7 years in IT infrastructure, cloud ops, or similar - ideally in a high-growth startup or scale-up Hands-on with cloud VM environments: Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS WorkSpaces, or equivalent Experience administering Microsoft Intune MDM and Google Workspace at an organisational level Comfortable owning a full IT function independently - helpdesk, device management, access control, vendor management Thinks in systems and automation - your instinct after solving a problem is "how do I never solve this manually again?" Comfortable with ambiguity and making sensible decisions without detailed specs Excited about AI as a practical tool - to automate workflows, build internal bots, or reduce toil Strong spoken and written English; communicates clearly with non-technical stakeholders Available for meaningful UK hours overlap - roughly 6am-3pm UK time   Why this role A rare opportunity to be the first IT/Infra hire at a fast-scaling health-tech company - you'll build the function from scratch with real autonomy Real infrastructure challenges from day one - cloud VM architecture, HIPAA compliance, scaling a production server-side application across a global team Opportunity to work closely with a strong engineering team and direct exposure to senior leadership 01Health is growing fast - your scope and impact grow with it AI-first from the ground up - a chance to reshape what an IT function looks like with AI at its core
