Senior Payroll Analyst
TLDR
Key role in a global payroll function ensuring end-to-end Canadian payroll accuracy, compliance, and process improvements across high-volume operations.
You will be responsible for end-to-end payroll accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across Canadian payroll operations:
- Process payroll changes using cloud-based payroll systems, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation.
- Conduct pre- and post-payroll audits to validate data integrity and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze earnings and deduction variances, investigating fluctuations and ensuring proper resolution.
- Manage payroll inquiries from employees, providing timely, accurate, and professional support.
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to manage payroll files, integrations, and data exchanges.
- Support equity-related reporting and ensure accurate system alignment with payroll data.
- Contribute to year-end payroll activities including reconciliations, reporting, calendars, and employee communications.
- Identify and implement process improvements, including documentation of standard operating procedures.
- Support ad hoc payroll and reporting requests as required in a fast-paced environment.
- 3+ years of Canadian payroll experience with strong understanding of local compliance requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills with ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Experience with payroll systems such as Workday and/or CloudPay is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability in payroll processing.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong initiative and self-direction.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, particularly in employee-facing situations.
- Experience working with vendors, payroll integrations, or cross-functional finance/HR teams is an asset.
