Senior Payroll Analyst

TLDR

Key role in a global payroll function ensuring end-to-end Canadian payroll accuracy, compliance, and process improvements across high-volume operations.

Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for end-to-end payroll accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across Canadian payroll operations:

  • Process payroll changes using cloud-based payroll systems, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation.
  • Conduct pre- and post-payroll audits to validate data integrity and resolve discrepancies.
  • Analyze earnings and deduction variances, investigating fluctuations and ensuring proper resolution.
  • Manage payroll inquiries from employees, providing timely, accurate, and professional support.
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to manage payroll files, integrations, and data exchanges.
  • Support equity-related reporting and ensure accurate system alignment with payroll data.
  • Contribute to year-end payroll activities including reconciliations, reporting, calendars, and employee communications.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, including documentation of standard operating procedures.
  • Support ad hoc payroll and reporting requests as required in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requirements

    You are a detail-oriented payroll professional with strong analytical capabilities and experience operating in a high-volume, structured environment:

    • 3+ years of Canadian payroll experience with strong understanding of local compliance requirements.
    • Advanced Excel skills with ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends or discrepancies.
    • Experience with payroll systems such as Workday and/or CloudPay is strongly preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability in payroll processing.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong initiative and self-direction.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, particularly in employee-facing situations.
    • Experience working with vendors, payroll integrations, or cross-functional finance/HR teams is an asset.
