About the Opportunity

Machinify is seeking a detail‑oriented and knowledgeable Senior Payroll Analyst to play a critical role in the execution, analysis, and continuous improvement of payroll operations for a large, multi‑state workforce of 3,000+ employees. This role supports accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for both salaried and hourly employees, while serving as a key technical partner within the payroll function.

The Senior Payroll Analyst brings strong hands‑on payroll experience, deep compliance knowledge, and analytical capability to support payroll execution, resolve complex issues, and ensure payroll data integrity in a private equity–backed, growth‑oriented environment.

What You’ll Do

Payroll Processing & Execution:

  • Execute and support bi‑weekly and semimonthly payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees across multiple states.
  • Prepare and validate payroll inputs, including hours, earnings, deductions, and adjustments.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of employee payroll records and data within payroll and HR systems.
  • Assist with off‑cycle payrolls, corrections, and manual calculations as needed.

Compliance & Accuracy:

  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and multistate requirements.
  • Assist with payroll tax activities, including reconciliations, filing support, and coordination with payroll tax vendors.
  • Compile, track, and maintain prevailing wage documentation and reporting.
  • Identify payroll discrepancies or variances, research root causes, and implement timely resolutions.

Analysis, Reconciliations & Reporting:

  • Perform payroll reconciliations between payroll systems, general ledger, and related subsystems.
  • Analyze payroll data to identify trends, errors, or opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support payroll reporting needs for Finance, HR, and leadership.
  • Assist with year‑end processes, including W‑2 reviews, audits, and payroll close activities.

Systems & Process Improvement:

  • Assist with payroll system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements, including testing, parallel runs, and data validation.
  • Support integrations between payroll, timekeeping, HRIS, and benefits systems.

Cross‑Functional Support:

  • Partner with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure accurate payroll inputs, leave calculations, benefit deductions, and reconciliations.
  • Provide clear, professional support to employees and managers regarding payroll questions and issues.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource within the payroll team on complex payroll calculations and compliance matters.

The salary for this position is based on an array of factors unique to each candidate: Such as years and depth of experience, set skills, certifications, etc.  We are hiring for different levels, and our Recruiting team will let you know if you qualify for a different role/range. 
 
Pay range: $75,000-$85,000 + Annual Bonus
