Senior Photographer

The role of Senior Photographer is exceptionally detail-oriented and is well-versed in both product and on-figure photography. They possess thorough knowledge of and experience with studio photography and its systems. They must maintain a high quantity of imagery output, spearhead innovative photography concepts, and be comfortable working in a fast paced, team-oriented environment with strict deadlines.
Reporting to our Photo Studio & Production Manager, you will be a leader in the photo studio, and will mentor a team of internal and freelance photographers. You will collaborate with the Retouching team and Styling team, and work closely with Site Operations. You will support visual merchandising and marketing efforts when necessary, and any other photography related needs company-wide. You should also possess an enthusiasm for professional development.
What you'll do...
- Prep, style and photograph incoming merchandise (shoe, accessory, jewelry, and home items) according to ModCloth standards
- Keep in tune with trends in fashion and product photography, and regularly present innovative ideas to creative team and Studio Manager
- Lead e-commerce photography shoots as delegated by Studio Manager
- Collaborate frequently with creative team and Studio Manager on lighting, cropping, set layout, color treatment, model posing, and processes
- Maintain lighting & color consistency across functional, laydown, and accessory sets
- Support marketing projects with photography as needed
- Photograph and maintain quality control of e-commerce photography
- Maintain a balance of creativity and efficiency to hit high daily shoot goals
- Determine daily shot goals by collaborating with Studio Manager and site operations team
- Maintain a clean and organized studio environment
- Maintain and manage all photography equipment
You...
- Have 5+ years working in an e-commerce photography environment
- Hold a degree in Photography or Art
- Have extensive knowledge of digital capture in Capture One
- Are an expert at color management, strobe & natural lighting, and Canon camera systems
- Are a strong visual storyteller
- Have product styling experience
- Are experienced with directing models
- Are positive and have an inspiring attitude
- Are able to learn new processes and programs quickly
- Understand imagery and its end use (digital, print, etc.)
- Are able to mentor and train others
- Can lift 50 pounds or more

- Have previous work experience with a fashion retail company
- Possess digital video experience
- Have retouching experience
- Have experience in apparel styling
- Have knowledge of scripting languages
- Have experience as a Digital Tech
