We are looking for natural leaders with strong empathy who enjoy rolling up their sleeves to help customers troubleshoot, unblock, and build world class data platforms. As the founding member of the support team you will have a large impact on the direction of our product and will have the opportunity to step up and build a support team as we grow. With our commitment to open source, your role will allow you to become a leader and influencer in the broader data community as a whole.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with and support open source developers and Onehouse customers alike
- Triage, escalate, and resolve issues in a professional and timely fashion
- Develop solutions and contribute to open source and product development
- Build run-books, processes, and procedures to scale support programs
- Analyze trends of customer pain and partner with PM and Eng to help set the roadmap for the product.
Must Haves
- 3+ years of experience working directly with customers on technical engagements.
- Working knowledge of a few modern data tools and frameworks like Apache Spark, Kafka, Flink, Presto/Trino, Hive, DBT, Airflow, Parquet, Avro, ORC.
- Familiarity with some cloud data services like EMR, Redshift, Kinesis, Glue, Dataproc, BigQuery, Databricks, HDInsight, Synapse.
- Experience building, operating, and troubleshooting data engineering pipelines.
- Comfortable working independently to own and drive programs and initiatives.
- Excellent verbal communication with experience simplifying technical explanations.
- Excellent written communication that you can modulate between technical engineers and C-Level executives.
Bonus Skills
- Support leadership experience managing and training support teams.
- Experience with a Lakehouse technology including Apache Hudi or Delta Lake.
- Experience contributing to an open source project.
