Senior Technical Specialist, Zuken E3

The Senior Technical Specialist focuses on the tools and methods used for creating electrical CAD drawings for schematics, low voltage wire harness drawings, high voltage wire harness drawings, symbol, and component libraries, and providing training and expertise to users.
The candidate will establish best practices, organize, and maintain connector, component and symbol libraries, and project templates using Zuken E3.
He or she will also develop, update, and enforce drawing standards and provide customized tools, training and support to design engineers and other in-house stakeholders such as manufacturing and IT.
Attention to detail and fondness for organizing data and creating high-quality CAD data is required as well as an ability to create simple, clear, and effective processes.
This position reports to the Manager, CAD/PLM System.

Responsibilities:

Continually develop, improve, and expand Zuken E3 use and efficiency in GILLIG’s new product, current product, and manufacturing environments
Drive methods, standards, and processes for all applications of Zuken E3 CAD software (wire list, cable & wire harness assembly, schematics, and system interconnect diagram, Bill of Materials)
Interact with cross-functional team members on design concepts
Provide library management and maintenance
Increase the utilization and integration of E3 software throughout the product development lifecycle
Manage Zuken software vendor relationships, including establishing and maintaining technical contacts and supporting GILLIG IT
Define, deploy, and refine processes and best practices for:

Provide hardware/software specifications and configurations for E3 users
Provide expert assistance, guidance, and issue resolution for E3 users
Provide E3 training and develop training material for all users at all skill levels

Qualification:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of five years of industry experience as a product design engineer or equivalent
Operating knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter environment using Zuken ZPA PDM adapter
Extensive experience with wiring harness design using Zuken E3
A successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in:

Proven ability to develop and deliver technical instruction to Zuken E3 users both individually and in groups
Demonstrated effectiveness in developing strong rapport with internal and external customers and stakeholders
Demonstrated advanced written and oral communication and organizational skill
Thorough knowledge and experience with Product Data Management (PDM) and Change Management (CM) applications processes

About the environment:

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Working environment is primarily indoors (office and production environment), however, at times job may require time spent outdoors or traveling to various suppliers and test locations
Regularly required to sit, stand and walk and occasionally kneel or squat
Typical start time 6:00AM (negotiable)

Requirements

1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
