Social Impact Intern

The Toronto Raptors Culture & Inclusion team is accountable for creating an equitable and purpose-driven culture that aligns with the core values of the team by supporting social impact both internally and within the greater community.

As part of the Toronto Raptors Culture & Inclusion team, you will have the unique opportunity to provide research assistance in the development of the Culture Department with the Toronto Raptors. Reporting to the Toronto Raptors Social Impact Manager, the Social Impact Intern will get first-hand experience in building initiatives within a professional sports environment.

MLSE’s Internship term dates are from May 6th, 2024 to August 30th, 2024

  • Support the Social Impact Manager in managing and executing external programming and partnerships with community organizations.
  • Research market and industry trends in social justice and EDI based on the Raptors markets and communities.
  • Manage communications with vendors and community partners to support the Social Impact Manager with implementing programs and initiatives.
  • Research trends in social justice and EDI based on the Raptors markets and communities to create analysis reports to provide to the Culture Department for project proposals.
  • Track social impact, engagement, and sentiment metrics on social media, and through traditional media outlets to support measuring KPIs for team projects.
  • Support the Social Impact Manager in evaluating proposals and inquiries from community organizations and identifying potential opportunities for support.
  • Create polished and client-ready presentation decks and documents to present ideas and develop post-wrap materials for Culture Team programs.
  • Attend and support with activations and community events.
  • Work with the Culture Department on ongoing projects by providing research and analysis support.
  • Present weekly research findings to the Social Impact Manager.
  • Manage and update the resource hub.
  • Support team with documenting and capturing clear and concise meeting notes.

  • Currently enrolled in a University or College degree, diploma or certificate program preferably in business, marketing, non-profits, events, sports management, or a related field.
  • Strong presentation-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Must have work-from-home capabilities.
  • Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Previous research and analysis experience is an asset.
  • You are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
