Software Developer Intern

Our interns take ownership of projects focused on developing tools, sustaining new features, and uncovering innovative solutions to empower creators in building engaging and interactive content. We are looking for Software Engineer Interns to join our highly dynamic teams in the following business units:

Create

Our Create business consists of a robust set of tools for the development of high-definition, real-time 2D and 3D content. Designed with creators in mind, the tools are used by artists, designers, and developers across a range of industries ranging from games to aerospace, medical to manufacturing, and beyond.

Grow

Grow is a comprehensive growth platform to monetize and scale mobile games and apps. Products include Unity LevelPlay, ironSource Ads, Unity Ads, Luna from Unity, Supersonic from Unity, and Aura from Unity. Teams within Grow include Data, Product Ads, Games Services Sales, and Business Intelligence, Monetization Sales, and Monetization Engineering.

Information Technology (CIO)

The IT organization is responsible for the upkeep and dependability of the internal systems that support Unity employees, as well as the applications that support our business functions. Teams include Systems Engineering, Product and Go To Market Technology, Business Systems, and Corporate Data

What to Expect From Your Internship

• Duration: 16 weeks depending on your academic calendar. Start date May 6, 2024
• Mentorship: You will work simultaneously with a manager and a mentor to help you develop your skills
• Impact: Our interns are working right alongside full time team members on projects that have a lasting impact on our product and services
• Networking & Development: Learning activities, networking opportunities, and social events take place throughout the summer to enrich your experience

What you’ll be doing

• Plan and build an important software project that can be delivered during your internship
• Contribute to team discussions on technologies that are likely to prove disruptive to the industry
• Develop and influence engineering culture by establishing the best engineering practices and standards
• Write high-quality code that supports existing and future functionality of the product

What we’re looking for

• Current university student pursuing a relevant program, and graduating between December 2024 and August 2025.
• Programming experience with at least one programming language such as C++, C#, Java, or Python
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, in both in-person and digital team environments
• Intellectual curiosity with the ability to learn and distill new information quickly

You might also have

• A passion for games
• Any experience with Unity or other 3d game engines - even if it was only a weekend project!
• Experience with deploying and launching software to production for real users
