Software Engineer Internship

Location: This role can be based in the Cambridge, UK office or remotely, with occasional travel to the office expected.

Role type: This is a full time (37.5 hours per week), paid internship lasting approx. 3 months.

About the Job

As part of our QA process, we have developed a platform for testing our engine, compare it with our competitors, and track the progress over time.

We are looking for engineers interested in tackling improvements in areas of this platform such as better data visualization, increased competitor coverage and improved usability.

As an intern you will have the opportunity to learn about the tooling involved in assessing the accuracy of a state-of-the art machine learning system.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Write code interfacing with the database.
  • Improve data visualisation.
  • Expand the coverage of our platform.
  • Any other suitable and relevant duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Willingness to learn new things.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience using Python.
  • Experience using JavaScript.
  • Experience using SQL.

Interview Process

The interview process for each role does vary, but usually, we would start off by asking you to complete a Further Information Form, so that we can be clear on your expectations from the start and get to know you a little better. Then we ask you to have a quick chat with the Hiring Manager to establish suitability and for you to ask us any questions before we progress the application by sending you role specific tests/tasks (if applicable). If this goes well, you will be asked to attend (either remotely or onsite if you are able) more technical interviews before we arrange a ‘meet the team’ session.
