About the Role:

The San Francisco Giants is looking for a Staff Accountant in the Accounting Department, where you will have the unique opportunity to aid the Director of Accounting with various recurring accounting and administrative requirements such as month-end recurring entries, account reconciliations, departmental accounting requests and various other tasks.  This position will also offer support with accounts payable and expense reimbursement processing on the Concur Expense & Invoice system.

The ideal candidate will have strong Accounting and Communication skills in order to provide excellent assistance to our Company as a whole. The position is located at our beautiful ballpark headquarters at 24 Willie Mays Plaza in San Francisco.  

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with month-end recurring entries, account reconciliations, departmental accounting requests and various other tasks.
  • Review expense reports for accuracy and completeness and process reports in Concur.
  • Responsible for certain day-to-day banking transactions and the corporate card program.
  • Reporting sales and use tax to the proper jurisdictions and ensure proper amounts are being used in AP calculations.
  • Provide accounting support when needed for both the Accounting department and the Company as a whole.
  • Business Property Tax Reporting
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree with an emphasis in accounting and have 2+ years of related accounting experience.
  • Strong computer skills with proven knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional (Excel and Word).
  • Ability to work with accounting and reporting software.
  • Knowledge of the Concur Expense & Invoice tool desired.
  • Detail oriented with organization skills necessary to work in a multi-task environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Judgment in handling of confidential matters and information.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting.
  • Strong analytical ability and perseverance to solve problems with minimal oversight.
