- Define and lead the technical vision and architecture of a large-scale cloud-based game engine supporting simulation, AI, and modeling workloads.
- Design and evolve core engine systems, frameworks, and developer tooling to enable scalable and efficient cross-team development.
- Own architectural decisions across runtime systems, performance infrastructure, editor/tooling ecosystems, and platform scalability.
- Drive high-impact technical initiatives that improve performance, reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity across the engine.
- Lead complex cross-team engineering efforts, aligning stakeholders and delivering solutions from concept through production.
- Partner with simulation, AI, and platform teams to ensure engine capabilities meet evolving product and research needs.
- Establish engineering standards, architectural principles, and best practices across the engine codebase.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing to elevate overall team capability.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks, scaling bottlenecks, and architectural constraints before they impact delivery.
- Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term platform investments to maximize system health and engineering velocity.
- 9+ years of professional software engineering experience in systems, game engines, or performance-critical platforms.
- Proven experience owning architecture and technical direction for large-scale engine or infrastructure systems.
- Deep understanding of game engine fundamentals such as rendering, ECS, data-oriented design, tooling, and runtime systems.
- Strong track record of leading complex, multi-team technical initiatives from design through execution.
- Experience optimizing performance, scalability, and reliability in large and complex codebases.
- Ability to define engineering standards, conduct architecture reviews, and influence cross-team technical decisions.
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to evaluate long-term tradeoffs and platform investment strategies.
- Familiarity with modern engines such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Godot, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience shipping and maintaining complex live-service or continuously evolving systems.
- U.S. citizenship required due to federal contract requirements.
