About Protocol Labs

Protocol Labs drives breakthroughs in computing to push humanity forward. Protocol Labs is a product-development lab, but behind the protocols and tools we build, behind the research and implementations, are passionate people, teammates, and community members. Most teams in the Protocol Labs Network are fully distributed and work remotely around the world. Engineers, researchers, and operators work in the open to improve the internet — humanity's most important technology — as we explore new advances at the intersection of many exciting fields (web3, cryptography, networks, distributed systems) and cultures (startups, research, open-source, distributed work).

Guide and shape significant Web3 initiatives in the Protocol Labs Network

Protocol Labs drives breakthroughs in computing to push humanity forward. The Protocol Labs Network is a product-development lab and network with a mission to improve the internet and computing, generally. We are doing so by creating groundbreaking new protocols (IPFS, libp2p, IPLD, Filecoin, and more), and speeding up the research and development pipeline from ideas on paper to in users’ hands.

The PL Network is made up of 300+ projects, companies, and organizations. Most teams in the Protocol Labs Network are fully distributed and work remotely around the world. Engineers, researchers, and operators work in the open to improve the internet — humanity's most important technology — as we explore new advances at the intersection of many exciting fields (crypto, networks, distributed systems) and cultures (startups, research, open source, distributed work).

Startup Operators in the PL Network are responsible for supporting our Projects through problem-solving, from data analysis and market segmentation to connecting them with industry experts, as well as establishing company-wide processes and tools that enable a unique global culture of innovation, collaboration, and performance.
