Strategic Sourcing Manager

TLDR

Supports the sourcing function by executing low-to-moderate complexity sourcing, coordinating supplier onboarding, and owning platform lifecycle processes.

The Strategic Sourcing Manager supports the Strategic Sourcing team by executing low-to-moderate complexity sourcing and supplier management work encompassing contract management, project management, supplier management, risk management, and compliance monitoring. The role owns day-to-day coordination for routine sourcing activities (intake support, renewals, documentation, and supplier communications) and provides platform administration support for Strategic Sourcing-owned platforms to ensure requests move efficiently and data remains accurate. This position develops foundational sourcing skills through hands-on execution under guidance from senior team members while building strong stakeholder service, analytical, and process discipline.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Negotiations & Contract Management

  • Strategically analyze agreement opportunities and lead communication efforts to negotiate low to moderate complexity categories under established sourcing standards with guidance from senior team members.
  • Support negotiations by preparing analyses, coordinating inputs, and routing approvals; escalate non-standard items to senior team members, ensuring that only the most beneficial agreements are executed.
  • Take responsibility for establishing contractual controls related to onshore/offshore restrictions, regulatory requirements, and client-imposed obligations, diligently monitoring supplier compliance to safeguard Allied's revenues.
  • Monitor contract expiration dates and develop comprehensive short- and long-term strategies for each category of expenditure, optimizing procurement outcomes.
  • Proactively identify changes in the business environment that may impact the company's negotiating position, enabling swift and strategic responses.
  • Conduct thorough risk analyses to identify potential threats to the company and develop robust mitigation plans aimed at minimizing or eliminating exposure.

Stakeholder Management

  • Foster and cultivate strong working relationships with business unit and departmental managers, ensuring that their requirements are effectively incorporated into category and supplier strategies and contracts while showcasing the value of the Strategic Sourcing function. Actively participate in cross-functional teams to execute strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with business unit and departmental managers to develop comprehensive RFP and non-RFP project plans, providing indirect management of communication plans, timelines and assignments to all stakeholders involved.
  • Administer the supplier onboarding process for suppliers, effectively managing action plans as necessary to ensure compliance with client and regulatory policies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong supplier relationships, aiming to continually enhance their value to the company.

Platform Ownership

  • Responsible for implementing, optimizing, and maintaining supplier onboarding and contract lifecycle management systems to ensure alignment with business objectives and enhance customer engagement and compliance.
  • Master the ability to configure the assigned platforms and guide the business area users to gain efficiency or other value.
  • Manage the platform supplier relationship and leverage the supplier’s services to realize business objectives.
  • Identify, create, and report metrics indicating the success of the system. Use this data to provide visibility and insights to Strategic Sourcing teammates and leader.

Reporting & Special Projects

  • Maintain the renewal pipeline and sourcing queue, including tracking key dates, required actions, and next steps to prevent last-minute renewals and missed negotiation opportunities.
  • Coordinate intake details with stakeholders (requirements, timelines, business justification, current state documents) and ensure proper handoff to senior team members for complex work.
  • Compile and maintain sourcing and supplier metrics and support preparation of leadership-ready updates.
  • Assist with supplier governance activities (documentation, meeting notes, action tracking, issue logs) to improve supplier accountability and performance follow-through.
  • Document standard work, templates, and job aids to improve consistency and reduce non-value-added work across the sourcing lifecycle; participate in process improvement efforts as assigned.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or supply chain, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two years of work experience in Strategic Sourcing or Procurement is preferred for this position; however, recent college graduates with a business or supply chain degree could also be considered.
